I'd even be willing to put up with some crazy uniforms if Nike would pony up the big bucks for facilities upgrades!

Good thing for you its Monday. You think I cant name 20 classmates that I graduated from UF with? I mean the reality is I know at least 40-50 alumni that live in Tampa. Knowing the name of UF's President is not that difficult my friend.

Would Nike be more interested in us than UCLA?

What is the history with apparel companies and their ties to coaches/programs?

I don't see why some people are saying "well, Fuchs went to NH so the deal must have been done." Tens of millions of dollars are at stake in this thing, it makes sense that the president of the university would be involved in the process, including meeting face to face with the guy they want to throw all that cash at, not just to "close the deal."

My theory is that those 6 officials flew to NH to make a strong pitch and now they're waiting for CK's decision. Sometimes the most obvious explanation is the right one. Too many conspiracy theories out there.

Hey, I liked that uniform... minus the pants. Needed some scales on the pants.

I would prefer to see scales on an orange helmet, or blue, rather than chaning color schemes though.

SEC vs Pac12. Rabid fanbase (ie purchasing power) vs ambivalent fanbase.

No question Florida is better for Nike than UCLA.

You have it backwards. +125 means bet 100 and win 125. So the odds are moving in favor of Kelly being the next UCLA coach.

I'd even be willing to put up with those once per year if we're winning big and pulling in big bucks.

Again, you think your alumni friends in Tampa are a good representation of the general gators fanbase here?

That shouldnt be too hard to figure out. I think there is a some type of report released annually of the top "brands" in college sports. Florida is typically in the top 10. I am not sure about UCLA but you would think with the national exposure Florida has had in all sports that the brand is pretty high on Nike's list.

Help me out here. Other than the Ck- Oregon-Nike connection why does Nike care who the coach is? Are they scared that a different coach would prefer another brand? Or is CK tied to Nike in some way?

That certainly isn’t me. I’m a huge CK fan and want him coaching us badly. That said, I’m very skeptical given recent events. Honestly I don’t blame anyone for being that way with all we seen thus far.

Oh and things just haven’t been going well in general for the Gators for a long long time. That plays a tiny role.

UCLA is an UA school. UF is a Nike school. Chip and the Owner of Nike know each other well from his Oregon days.

Actually I do. Whats worse is that you didnt know who he was even after he was plastered all over national news a few weeks ago, but that is a thread for a different forum.
