Easily the most hyped part of the scrimmage. Two offensive guys lay down on their backs in a line, guy whose head is by the blocker’s feet has the ball…head on the 5 yard line. Two defenders lay down wide to each side on their back on the goal line, heads towards the offense guys. Whistle blows…the blocker tries to get up and jam a guy, runner tries to score. Intense…and the players loved it. Looked like an honor to be selected. Some big tough fellas out there.
That drill was actually my favorite drill in Pop Warner through high school football. I call it the put up or shut up drill.
They could have Timmy and dion do it for pay per view. I could watch an hour of that. Kinda like celebrity death match.
