WASHINGTON (AP) — A day after conservative activist Laura Loomer posted videos on social media of children from Gaza arriving in the U.S. for medical treatment and questioning how they got visas, the State Department said it was halting all visitor visas for people from Gaza pending a review.

The State Department said Saturday the visas would be stopped while it looks into how “a small number of temporary medical-humanitarian visas” were issued in recent days. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Sunday told “Face the Nation” on CBS that the action came after ”outreach from multiple congressional offices asking questions about it.”

Rubio said there were “just a small number” of the visas issued to children in need of medical aid but that they were accompanied by adults. The congressional offices reached out with evidence that “some of the organizations bragging about and involved in acquiring these visas have strong links to terrorist groups like Hamas,” he asserted, without providing evidence or naming those organizations.

When Loomer tells them to jump, they ask how high. She's come a long way from when she was crying when she lost her primary claiming that there is election fraud in the GOP. I just hope that one day the hostages are returned and Bibi stops the genocide

Why are they even coming here in the first place? There are plenty of countries in the Middle East that could care for them. Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia etc.

Also England, France or any of the countries that want to recognize Palestine as a state should take them.
Didn't France recently rule that all Palestinians are eligible for refugee status in France? They should take them all.

Good point. Why the hell would we want to help anyone from another country when we don’t even wanna help about 75% or more of the people in this country.

If there’s any chance that terrorist can be in that group then I’m all for pausing the visas while they take a closer look at the situation.

No, this is propaganda. The charitable organization, the Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund, sends injured kids around the world for medical treatment. Why? Why of course it is for the photo opportunity and to change western public perspective on the plight of Palestinians. So… believe what you will, but taking people out of the consciousness of Americans is propaganda as well.

Loomer is a disgusting bigot who made her bones doing rabid anti-Arab racism and now she's in direct contact with Rubio telling them not to allow injured Palestinian children into the country for medical treatment - today's GOP everyone. Just invoke the magic word "Hamas" and you can kill or bomb whoever you want.

Simple question: Why are these children not taken to hospitals in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, or even Egypt first?

They belong in another middle-eastern country. NOT here in the U.S.A.

Remember... these are the same people that Egypt and Jordan DO NOT WANT IN THEIR COUNTIES, I WONDER WHY?

They are talking about 11 children. Eleven. Egypt has definitively taken injured children in big numbers, I’ve read articles about how it’s draining their resources and how even those with serious wounds or requiring surgery are having to wait. The Israeli’s have killed or wounded 50,000 children since this war began. Not sure why these 11 were so “lucky”, perhaps they had specific or serious issues Egypt can’t handle?

    See post #6.

This is not the US government and taxpayers. This is a private US based charity.
