Interesting -- Interference called on the field is not reviewable but interference not called is reviewable if the ball remains live. I like the removal of the restriction on showing the play under review on the Jumbotron. And why oh why no safety bag? Unless I missed that change, it sure seems like a no-brainer that protects the players and has no downside.
I don’t get a Xfinity pop-up but I do get a Verizon pop-up and it happens about 10 minutes into me signing onto this forum every time!!
I''ve never had any pop-up issues on this board. What browser do ya'll use? I use Firefox. Plus I have Privacy Badger that blocks a lot of stuff.
Unless I misread it, they are going to the safety bag, finally. The biggest no-brainer in sports as far as I'm concerned. I guess I'll have to reread the obstruction rule as I don't see a difference from last year. Last year also included, to my knowledge, that the umps are to ignore obstruction if the runner is clearly out. They never did that 99% of the time. Lastly, as to popups, I have never gotten one. I don't know why. If I were to use my local 1 gig fiber, it is from a rather small North Georgia Blue Ridge mountain town electric company so, perhaps, that isn't a target. But I use a VPN (Nord) virtually 100% of the time and possibly that's why I don't get popups. Nord is the fastest VPN I've ever used. I get about 950 on my local fiber but I can get 900-910 with Nord and never did that before on any other VPN. Your mileage may vary. I have to drop the VPN to use YouTube tv all of the time and, most of the time, to use Watch ESPN links. As for the browser, I'm not sure that matters but for what it is worth, I use Brave, which is rated as one of the most secure browsers available.
I don't get the pop either. My provider is WOW! and my browser is Safari. It must be the small time provider (WOW!) that is not a target.
USA wins gold. Beat Japan in a 10 inning thriller in the semi. Skylar went yard to tie it up. Beat China in the gold medal game. Skylar went yard again.
Might need some help with these two pics: First one I'm guessing L-R, Tim, Leah, Matsuno? Second one is Townsen, Cassidy, Red and....not sure....probably Sparkman or Desiderio.
Found this post on an OU board about Escobar before she committed. Think we got a good one. "I also watched Lillian Escobar again yesterday at 3 PM. She pitched wonderfully once again. She is simply a very develped pitcher who has all the pitches (she even threw a couple nice changes yesterday. She is ready fo D1 for sure. I inquired about her not be committed still as a Class of 2026. I would say the parent I talked to was amazed that someone has not offered and got a commit from Escobar. It seems that the parents do not understand and it was confirmed that she wants to pitch in college. I would say that Escober could probably have helped OU this season in the circle fro what I have seen in two games in two days. I think that means that she could help OU in the circle next year also. With the connections that the Sooners have with the Batbusters, it seems very weird for Escobar to not be a committed player at this point. i know she could help in 2027 after another year in the circle with the Batbusters orginazation."
Two best and the two all time fan favorites in my opinion. That is not taking anything away from all the other great players we have had.
I've been streaming the softball world cup and I must say it is well produced (facilities and broadcast quality). However, there were opportunities for improvement. The booth direction, camera positioning, and the camera people need experience shooting a softball game. Specifically, the centerfield camera position (a staple in baseball/softball) should be shifted to the right (as viewed from CF) because the pitcher blocks the view of a left-handed side of the plate. The camera people do a marginal job of following the action (like they had no anticipation of what's going to happen). This was aggravated by the director's sloppy and late cuts from camera to camera. There appears to be no replay reviews, but the umps were pretty good. Surprisingly the dish umps had pretty good and consistent strike zones. The announcer seems to have a rudimentary understanding of softball. It was quite amusing to listen to him describe action. He has an English accent so I'm guessing he has a cricket experience - often substituting "match" for "game" among many other poor or non-softball choices of words. I'm guessing he was drafted into the role. Nonetheless, "he gave it a good go, eh what!". It may seem like I hated the streaming with my criticisms, but in the big picture it was pretty good. I am grateful these games were available.
