Man it really felt like we turned a corner in that game and were on the way back to being a power player in college football. Mullen was the link to our days as a proper program and the swamp was back to its old form.
The SEC must fight that stupid idea... The B1G wants all college football NFL sub-league, and that's the quickest way to get one director type commissioner like the NFL. We do not need any more "big" ideas from that league. The B1G wants to move us further away from college football and close to some NFL minor league.
Not in that game. Mullens first two years we still sucked at 3rd down but we were near the top of the country in sacks and turnovers. It wasn't until year 3 that the turnovers and sacks dwindled and our end down issues became horrific
I was always in favor of at at most an 8 or 12 team playoff. The thing I couldn't stand about college football my whole life was when people would say "the games matter more" in the BCS or older model. Well, false. Unless you're one of a handful of teams none of your games matter because even if you go undefeated, it's up to voters to decide. Then you had teams actively trying for the easiest possible schedule because one fluke game and you season is over. I was really happy we moved to the current model. Guess I should have known it would get instantly destroyed because some rich assholes are sitting in board rooms chanting "more games more money more games more money."
Why???? They need to straighten out the NIL and making players employees first, so they can sign a contract. Contract they can't void in the middle of the season without giving back money they took.
100% I can say with absolute certainty that the best team did not get left out last year. Edit: or the previous 10 for that matter.
