There is no speculation, Dez has already said he has a problem with controlling his eating. He has admitted he loves munching on snacks whenever he gets a chance and that part of his weight loss has been avoiding going inside at a gas station because he always leaves with his arms full. Also GLP-1s are currently not a banned substance by WADA and the NFL.
You’re speculating that they are speculating. There is plenty of verified info on Big Dez and his issues. Most from his own mouth. He’s a 23 year old man that has made over a million playing football he can take the truth I promise.
I have never seen those articles. It doesn't surprise me at all. However that GLP-1 aren't banned in the NFL doesn't mean they are recommended for athletes at a high level. Same would go for limiting calories through surgery. A body can use muscle for energy just as well as it can fat if it doesn't get enough calories.
I know what the body uses for energy, it's my field/degree, exercise and sports science. No athlete should ever do surgery while active. As for the side effects of GLPs, they can be drastically reduced with proper dosing. In Dez's case, you would use them to suppress the food noise in his head, that need/feeling that you're hungry even though you're not, so you over consume. You wouldn't want to suppress his appetite completely. Hopefully he is also working with a therapist to identify his food triggers. As a side note, the next generation of GLP's that will be coming are amazing. Retatrutide, which should be on the market in early 2026 will make the current ones obsolete.
Yes, these GLP are absolutely amazing, and if they end up having no long term adverse side effects, the benefits they give society will have been the biggest thing since penicillin. The right dosing is key, and to get it right on a high level athlete to avoid smaller side effects including fatigue would be very tricky. If he has been saying snacking is an issue, he hasn't had real treatment with a GLP, and it isn't conceivable that it hasn't been proposed to him with the money he has had and the medical advice he would have been given.
Dez sighting. The camera caught him on the sideline at the Steelers game. In sweats. Surprised he traveled with the team.
