The red carpet is not uncommon for the leaders of allied countries and/or well respected world leaders. Putin doesn't fall into either category. Russia isn't an ally of the US and as indicted war criminal Vladimir isn't exactly a respected leader.
If dear leader's buddy is a known war criminal, brutal dictator and murderer, it doesn't bother you that Trump respects him?
Arnold Schwartzenegger: "He (Trump) was embarrassing...like a wet noodle...fan boy...I thought he was going to ask him for an autograph or selfie...sold out our country."
Rolling out the red carpet for Putin is Trump's prerogative. That being said Vladimir Putin still doesn't meet the normal criteria for the honor of being welcomed with a red carpet. When Trump met with Putin during his first term the Donald said that he believe Vladimir Putin rather than his own intelligence agencies. The first time of many in which Donald Trump deviated from the norms of virtually all his predecessor by demonstrating his deference to Vladimir Putin.
How mortifying for Trump. This exercise in abasement can't please his Alpha base. Like a dog rolling on his back to show submission.
Not really. If Trump himself did this, everybody would call it "a love letter to Putin." So he used Melania as a ghostwriter and everyone thinks it's gold.
There is almost nothing he could do his base wouldn’t defend. Regardless of how embarrassing… clearly…
Nope this war is the only thing that might could start a world war. Luckily the idiots that thought it was a good idea to have Western Ukraine start shelling Donbass again causing Russia to roll in there are no longer in charge.
I don't think that's still true. I think he's starting to tarnish. Maybe just wishful thinking on my part.
