What do you see as a total collapse? 7-5, 7-6 would seem to mean with his best roster so far he is still middle of the SEC. I see the roster as 8-9, even 10 on the full season. The biggest hurdle will be road wins. He's at 22%(2 of 9) and needs to win half of the six(more is better). If we only win one or two of our road games he has to go undefeated at home. Even if that happened, no coach who loses most road games will ever make a championship run. Interesting season coming our way.

I see 8 as reasonable but that is only one game from 7 or 9. Lots of crazy things can happen and sometimes its just the breaks. We cant look like we did in several games the first half of last year. If we look like a competent team all year and there are four or even five teams that are just more talented and beat us, i can live with that. The question is is, how many teams do we play that are more talented than us. If DJ isnt playing, that number goes up.

1.He gets a break for having the toughest schedule in the country. No one expects an undefeated year. So the question becomes is one loss acceptable? What about two. If you get into the playoff with three we still good. The gray area starts at four losses as you don't make the playoffs but maybe you have a close loss to say Texas who wins an NC or plays for one. Five losses are disastrous IMO.

We have to see the season as a whole, not just numbers. I want to see a well coached team with solid decision making and may the best team win. No more losing to Tennessee when we should have won or at least made a better effort to do so.

Even our greatest coaches laid some turds on road games. It happens some times with college athletes in hostile environments.

What we saw at home against teams that were mid like aTm and Miami was unacceptable and cant be repeated. Napier added more pressure this year against Miami because of that embarrassment last year. Road game or not they need to go in and play like they are the favorite this year. I still find it hard to believe that was the product he put on the field after an off-season of accolades and hype from the head coach. Im a hopeful skeptic (oxymoron intended) until i see what they bring to Miami this year.

I hope so - but we really do need to see not only improvement, but consistency and confidence for this to be a successful season. If we aren’t happy with what we see - especially with the talent and depth we have, it’s gonna be a major disappointment and no way to enter 2026

Ward was really good and maybe they beat us anyway but the way it went down was unacceptable.

We may lose some games against more talented teams but that should be expected. We just need to play up to our potential. No shame in losing to the better man if we do our best.

Ward was good but their defense was not and we made them look all world. I was helping someone out at the time the game was on but when I saw our offensive response paired with our defense unable to get off the field once again I tuned out by the 2nd quarter. It was as pathetic an opener as I've ever seen especially given the effusive praise by coach in the off-season. Miami should have had two more losses if not for two horrific calls by acc refs that benefited their only team with a pulse at that time. Great offense but a mid team

Our defense should keep us in most games. The QB will make or break the season, and the Gators will be predominantly judged by the health of DJ! This Haven is stellar, and he will require a stellar paycheck and a tight relationship with the coaching staff! If Napier gets him, BN isn't going anywhere. Hopefully, we won't have to discuss much, because we will mostly see wins in 2025!

Oof. Exactly. Some fans are well invested in their support. Can't always win but we damn sure expect to be competitive

I was sure glad that I chose to spend my time in Graceland instead of watching that abomination of à game.

That makes sense. If we are talking about the entire season, four losses could still be 9-4 with a mediocre bowl loss being the least damning. If we go 9-3 on the regular, that seems to me to be a step up and could mean undefeated at home winning 3 of 6 on the road.

    No doubt.

Agreed. It creates doubt that the HC has a feel for where the team is. The realization that difficult and competitive practices are important to his players was... interesting. Hopefully he learned from all of it- the process.

It will be great if by mid season the world is talking about a very dangerous Gator team. I agree the fan base deserves a coached up team and more competent staff. If we lose on talent, I hope it appears to be depth issues late in games because that's "correctable" and reasonable to believe Napier can get that done. I would like to think that to Napier 64th in scoring is a deficiency he's dead set on improving. Because, if he's not and he thinks that's acceptable, he's never ever going to make it. Thankfully, so far, he has not advised us that our Defense will impress people. For me, that's a good sign.

Our offense has been ranked about like our qb talent
