This little thread has missed me …

 

I think testing (voluntarily) is OK. I did a couple times a while back, because my dad has a respiratory disease. But I don't test every time I get a sniffle.

I rarely get sick at all and generally just stay home and away from people if I have a fever, assuming nobody wants what I have regardless.

I don't really think that is a political thing.
It's ok to know what you're dealing with.

 

I still voluntarily get tested for, along with the rest of my family, only because my father is still in remission from lung cancer... So I would rather be safe than sorry...
Once he gest past the 5 year cancer free mark, we might be a little less cautious, but for me it is better to be safe than sorry...

 

Recall that the commonest symptom for Covid was “I feel fine.”

Back in 2021 a teammate of mine, overcome by curiosity, took the test and tested positive.

Much to his chagrin he was required to stay home for ten days.

He literally clowned himself.

ATLANTA (AP) — The man who fired more than 180 shots with a long gun at the headquarters of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention broke into a locked safe to get his father’s weapons and wanted to send a message against COVID-19 vaccines, authorities said Tuesday.

Documents found in a search of the home where Patrick Joseph White lived with his parents “expressed the shooter’s discontent with the COVID-19 vaccinations,” Georgia Bureau of Investigation Director Chris Hosey said.

White, 30, had written about wanting to make “the public aware of his discontent with the vaccine,” Hosey said.

White had been stopped by CDC security guards before driving to a pharmacy across the street, where he opened fire from a sidewalk, authorities said. The bullets pierced “blast-resistant” windows across the campus, pinning employees down during the barrage. More than 500 shell casings have been recovered from the crime scene, the GBI said.

 

Agree if you want to test for something...go for it.

But if you pay attention to symptoms and what is going around in the community you can likely save yourself the dollars.

Covid and the Flu are ones that make no real sense to test for unless you end up at the point you need to go to the ER in which case they will probably test you for both and then treat basically the same way. Fluids/Rest/Tylenol/Ibuprofen. Some will surly take a super expensive drug as well for covid if they come back with that virus. And it is likely unnecessary. Not all the time. But the vast majority of people with the flu and covid need nothing more than doing the standard when under the weather.

 

I think most agree. I just think the dangerous thing is when we say "anyone" or "everyone" in these cases. There are some people who COVID is very harmful for. We just need to keep that in mind.

 

Absolutely. I have never said otherwise. I was having a fun playful jab at a few here on too hot and absolutely there are others that will still go get tested at the first sign of the sniffles.

 

Trump was right about one thing. He said if people stopped testing Covid would go away. It was and continues to be a testing-demic. The test is all there ever was …

 

Really poor graph. Something the Clintons would've used.

 

It could stand improvement. For example, no one died of a non-existent pathogen, so the redline would be completely flat. At one point Americans were testing an hysterical TWO MILLION times a day.

 

Adding that the graph is for the period ending in November of 2020. By the way as far as Covid deaths are concerned for a similar period this graph is much more useful.

But if I were to play the part of controlled opposition, that is, pretending that Covid exists and is harmful for some, add to your graph the number of ‘positive’ tests and watch what happens to your mountain range.
