Is "My Body, My Choice" now a pro-life slogan? What did I miss?

The baby has a body. Something some on the left forget about.

They even make abortion a religious ritual so they can be exempted from state laws that conflict with their religious beliefs. Smart.

    RELIGIOUS ABORTION RITUAL

The Satanic Temple's religious abortion ritual exempts TST members from enduring medically unnecessary and unscientific regulations when seeking to terminate their pregnancy. The ritual involves the recitation of two of our Tenets and a personal affirmation that is ceremoniously intertwined with the abortion. Because prerequisite procedures such as waiting periods, mandatory viewing of sonograms, and compulsory counseling contravene Satanists’ religious convictions, those who perform the religious abortion ritual are exempt from these requirements and can receive first-trimester abortions on demand in states that have enacted the Religious Freedom Restoration Act.

I think it is super lame that Satanists don't worship Satan.

Yes, in the way that there is truth to be found in any myth.

Mainline satanism is for nerds, people not cool enough to be pastafarians.

My understanding is that “Satanism” is less an actual set of religious beliefs than it is a group of essentially trolls on the far left who said “let’s start a ‘church’ based on things Republicans really hate so that every time Republicans do something pro-religion in the public space we can show up, make them uncomfortable, and then tell them that it’s their fault we’re allowed to.”

I mean that’s pretty accurate for Satanic Temple, which was what was involved here.

But many “satanists” are Church of Satan. Anton LaVey said they were just Ayn Rand with ceremonies and rituals.

LaVey was at least fascist adjacent and today they pretty much just say it out loud. But they also don’t organize like ST, as that cuts against their extreme individualism themes.

And I suppose there are some literal Satanists. But they have never gotten any run except in the satanic panic days, and even then you couldn’t find one, it all had to be imagined. Even Charles Manson was just a dabbler (and his flavor was COS.)

I know some so-called satanists too. But they are just as likely to be right as left, and mostly it’s a way for them to try to prove how much more anti-establishment they are than you are, in either direction.

Does it the second after it's born? Because it would be weird to think that mental will requires the existing of the birth canal.

We would first need to describe the very vague term. What does "will" mean?

    Some describe "will" as consciousness.
Some describe "will" as the ability to choose for oneself.

The later is actually absent from many persons. Disabled, young (born) children, Alzheimer's patients etc.

The former can exist within all of those groups

So if the later is what you choose to lean on, then you can dispose of any person who has lost (or never had) the ability to make choices for themselves.

I am speaking of the first definition.
    Science exists for that:
Does Consciousness Begin Before Birth? - Neuroscience News.

If you are choosing the second meaning, than that is purely philosophical and I can't prove or disprove anything. I would say that second one is a silly one to use for abortion, because it would then have to apply to Alzheimer's, mentally handicapped, and anyone else that has to have decisions made for them.

Self preservation is a matter of consciousness that exists in us all from the start. In that way, it is our "will" to survive.

The fact that you take solace in something called a "Religious Abortion Ritual" doesn't make me look like the wrong one.

Also the winky face in my original post probably clued you in that I was being facetious.

Scripture is scripture. You are sure taking a lot of shots at religious beliefs and religious people for someone who doesn't like it when other people do it...

Every assisted-suicide state attributes death to the cause for which assisted-suicide was approved and not the action that killed the person.

They say it’s for privacy’s sake but this is a lie. Death certificates are not required to be made public.

Whether abortion or assisted-suicide, seems well go to any length to avoid the suggestion that we’re killing people.

What religious people did I take shots at? I'm the one defending the Satanic churches rights.

People take shots at Christians all the time on this board, they don't all make it the troll fest that you do.

Notice I don't have the same debates with the others that I do with you? Wonder what is different?
