I think Lagway and the Gators progression the next two seasons will have a lot to do if he comes here.
It would be great, no doubt. But it's a long way to NSD and the staff has to show what they can do re development, protect DJ, make him stand out as a top QB reaching his potential here. 64th in scoring offense won't look so good to him in December and there are a lot of teams that can pay up.
Like Moe said, its a talent acquisition business that won national championships . He was never accused of being an elite gameday coach. His fake kick to lose the sec championship was a blunder for the ages and then he promptly won two with top talent.
Moe is a damn fine Defensive coach and smart enough to stay out of the kitchen on Offense. Of course what he's best at is (formerly) ilicit talent acquisition.
There's no substitute for talent. You can coach all you want but CarsonBeck is never going to be Tim Tebow.
Last year and this year are the toughest schedules of any program in the country. If we can just have stability in coaching staff I like the direction we are headed. If we fire Billy at year end then we will have transfers and be starting over again with another 4 year plan. Hoping for continued improvement this year. Finally rebuilt squad and have depth/athletes that disappeared during end of Mullen regime.
