Trump pushes for more federal law enforcement in DC

I’m not happy about this. It’s like watching UF play Miami, I want them to both lose.

What i would prefer is for DC to stop doing stupid things like re-electing a guy caught on tape taking a bribe from the FBI. I don’t think people realize just how bad that looks to people in the area. Does any one want to do any business in ward knowing he expects a kick back as part of it?

Tell you what, I am happy to hang out in Tyson’s Corner at 9 pm. You willing to go hang out in Anacostia at 9 pm?

 

Sounds like Trump and that guy have a lot in common. And I sure wish America would stop doing stupid things like re-electing a guy who tried to overthrow an election.

In his ruling, Engelmayer said that the government’s submissions failed to prove its claim that the grand jury materials “contained undisclosed information of significant historical or public interest.” He said that “with only very minor exceptions,” the evidence from the Maxwell grand juries is “a matter of public record.

 

To state the obvious, what an overreaction to one 19 year old being assaulted. What was he doing out at 3am in a (presumably) bad neighborhood anyway? Were drugs or alcohol involved? Is this now the litmus test for federal policing - a single assault? If so, we need to be sending the military to every town and city in the country asap!

 

A few years back I saw an interview that stuck with me. a tv crew interviewed locals in the worst crime areas in Baltimore. One older lady, poc, - “yes! please send help! I can’t step outside.” And many like her. The local gov was failing them.

will this effort help the worst areas of DC or will it be pics of humvees and idle national guardsmen in The National Mall and photo ops for trump.

 

One of the rare times you and I at least implicitly agree. Engelmayer in effect refused to release the grand jury transcripts because all of the relevant material in them was already a matter of public record.

In other words the Administration's request was nothing more than a political stunt to deflect from the real reason that Trump, Patel and AG Blondie (misspelling intentional) are refusing to release the more extensive files in their possession contains material that could implicate Trump or prominent Republican donors. Although it is unlikely that Trump himself was involved in relationships with girls victimized by Epstein and Maxwell there was the real possibility that he was aware of what Epstein was doing.

 

I’d like to go to the Wharf more. Thanks to Trump, I’ll be safe now
