My goal as moderator is to foster a welcoming environment for all posters…by actively listening, hoping for smooth and informative discussion… so all people are heard. An occasional gif should serve as a tool to enhance communication and I’m pleased most people agree on that point.
Funny how some of you are bothered by gifs, but said nothing when a couple leftist posters went nuclear on Christians a while back. But sure. Gifs. Bluke has rules he has to follow. He will. Some of you take this all too seriously.
I disagree. As to your second post; there are some posts made that certainly could be considered disrespectful by _____________ (fill in the blank. Christians is occasionally accurate.) That's entirely different from a constant assault on the senses of vapid, meaningless and thoughtless spam GIFs, which are actually the perfect content to give an ignore to. Im having nightmares of Marcia Brady GIFs already. Edit; oh, and people could block posters who they find disrespectful, including to their religion. They won't be able to block the crowing about Trump's victory, "Sure, Jan" GIFs, and "crying liberal girl" memes. Your comparison is not valid at all.

I don’t understand why admin feels the need to moderate this board to such an extent. I totally understand the other boards on the site, you need to protect student athletes, coaches, etc, but just smack a content warning on this specific board and leave it alone or close the board entirely imo. The rest of us are adults - if we don’t like it we can do our best impression of Kurt Russell in escape from New York and we can leave.
Well, some posters need direction and are unable or unwilling to behave in a civilized manner. Yes, it is pathetic that a forum with vast differences of opinions, has posters that continue to name call and try to strong arm anyone that they disagree with. I am not having that anymore.
Since I have you in this conversation, how would you like to be the new "FORUM ADMINISTRATOR?" I know that you lean left, but I think that could do a good job. Would you be interested?

I can disagree with you, but I can be respectful to you, like you are for the most part. I believe that this can be a good forum if posters quit trying to "One up" each other. And trust me, I have said very publicly that I would be for this forum being blown the hell up, but we really do have good posters on both sides...I shouldn't have to police this forum if the posters acted with a modicum of decency. For every poster like like you, there are 25 that are complete assholes. What makes this forum different from dedicated political sites, is that a great many are also Gator fans, but some cannot just help themselves. I appreciate the banter and you make some very valid points. Now I need to go take a shower...I have spent too much time in this forum!!!!!
GC is basically a Gator SPORTS forum. A political forum could potentially be a liability. An unregulated political forum on a sports board could be disastrous
Is Gator Country considering more privacy settings/security in this forum to further separate Too Hot from the other forums?
