So Ben is the "left-leaning" mod that was promised? I wonder if he would agree with that characterization.
I mean, he isn't a bad guy (I have always respected the guy). But he is very much not "left." He is a pretty straight up Republican.
I agree on demeanor, he just isn't at all left-leaning. Do you think Bluke's demeanor on this board is consistent with expectations going forward?
Absolutely. Ben often doesn't post for a while here and I know that I've encouraged him to post more often. Very solid. But he's not on the left.
Hell, if I went by poster demeanor, there would be maybe 1 moderator and 5 posters. Everyone has their flaws. You don't have to like it, but I have made the decision with help from the other moderators.
My goal as a mod will be to show what I’ll call a judicial temperament. If I’m doing my role well, my hope is that my political beliefs shouldn’t matter to or influence my ability to do it. No, I’m not a progressive. But hopefully the fact that I’ve managed to have folks on both extremes on this board accuse me of being the other limits the concern in that regard.
