QB’s have been taking that hit and getting up for 70 years. Some don’t, and AR doesn’t. That seems to be a trend. That’s all.
Daniel Jones has been injured a lot as well. AR has amazing athletic ability - would love to see a Gator QB become a star in the league. I thought Trask would eventually get a chance - but each year that doesn’t happen it seems less and less likely.
Good catch....absolutely targeting right to the chest with the crown of the helmet. He would have been sitting in the locker room for the rest of the game had that been college football.
That was a textbook tackle. Shoulder pad into the arm and facemask at chest level The problem was AR was oblivious to his protection and never saw it.
I don't think this was an OL goof and wonder if this was a busted play. The RB releases like its a screen to the right side of the field and doesn't even bother to chuck the blitzer, but AR is looking the opposite way the entire time. I think somebody screwed up on this play, most likely the RB since the TE also doesn't chuck the blitzer and immediately runs downfield.
To me, seems like the qb should have changed the *protection*, or gotten rid of the ball immediately. TE and RB both left on routes. Someone has to be responsible for picking up the blitz.
Nope. Your pic is a few too frames late. The video clearly shows him lower his head and initially strike AR with the crown of his helmet. @Gatorrick22 is right on this one.
Yes, the third possibility is that the QB screwed up and didn't change his protections when an obvious blitzer is about to knock his block off. Its a very real possibility knowing what we do about AR's game management skills.
Lol... I literarily said that my video DID NOT SHOW IT... But there is a view where you can see that hit in slow motion, and it's quite clear.
Injuries are going to give AR some cover and a few more paychecks. His awful int's are going to end his NFL career.
Your video does show it if you make if full screen and slow it down frame by frame. The defender clearly lowers his head, strikes him with the crown of the helmet right between the numbers and then as he drives through Richardson, he raises his head. I dont' know about the NFL, but that's a definite no-no in College. If I knew how to operate a computer, I would cut and paste it here for reference.
