Our current president was an awful candidate and somehow got elected twice. We are still almost four years away, it’s not going to take much to win the next election after Trump and his cronies are done doing their damage to the country assuming they don’t try to make future elections illegal, which is likely.
Vance’s “strength” is that he will morph into anything at any moment for the sake of convenience. And like it or not, he’s clever. He once pretended to be a hillbilly so effectively that he got Glenn Close to kill a role advancing his faketitude. The most interesting thing here will be seeing him play different people daily once it gets real. Once he called DJT Hitler, but currently he’s playing Goring. He’ll eventually play Churchill. No one can say how MAGA will react to this. Goebbels is clearly on deck.
Trump is just one of those once in a generation guys that can get people to follow him no matter what. Obama was like that but in the primary democrats felt it was HRC’s turn and her only competition was an old socialist. Republicans are going to have the same problem because they will never find another Trump. Of course there is that 30% that would vote for Satan if Jesus was running against him as a Democrat.
You could have Jesus himself as the dem nominee and they still wouldn’t vote for him as he would too libbie.
I don't really care who the Republicans or Democrats put forward but pleeeeeeeease not that guy. Just giving you a heads up that for all the tumult about Mr Trump around the world, people seem to dislike Vance even more. Surely the Republican party has a candidate that can look after America's interests properly without alienating half the civilized world at the same time? 330 million people - you MUST have one from each side that could do the job without all the acrimony?
The R stands for Republican. Which doesn't always equal conservative. It used to. Now it just means hate the other side for some. I have an idea. Same one I had in 2018. How about if Trump just hands the keys over now. I think Vance would do a fine job if he didn't have to follow the lead of the intellectual midget he is anchored to.
Again. I think VPs are often puppets. Forced to be a certain way. I actually think Vance is a very bright guy and would make a really good president. No one. NO ONE gets that kind of position without some boot licking.
Andy Beshear, Josh Shapiro and Wes Moore. Beshear was elected governor in one of the "reddest" states in the country while Shapiro and Moore have both been elected in swing states. I would add that although Maryland almost always votes Democrat in presidential elections two of its last four governors have been Republicans including Larry Hogan was elected twice by a significant margin each time.
