The problem with your logic is there isn't any decent candidate from the left at this point.

 

Our current president was an awful candidate and somehow got elected twice. We are still almost four years away, it’s not going to take much to win the next election after Trump and his cronies are done doing their damage to the country assuming they don’t try to make future elections illegal, which is likely.

Trump is just one of those once in a generation guys that can get people to follow him no matter what. Obama was like that but in the primary democrats felt it was HRC’s turn and her only competition was an old socialist. Republicans are going to have the same problem because they will never find another Trump. Of course there is that 30% that would vote for Satan if Jesus was running against him as a Democrat.

 

I can name at least three democratic governors who are awesome and actually know how to govern.
