White House orders NASA to destroy two satellites studying the earths climate

of course they did. climate is woke.

 

Donald Trump and this administration are a stain on this country. Every day they get more embarrassing by the minute.

 

Agreed. This is a very dark period in our country's history.

 

NASA should just claim they destroyed it.
Only NASA is tracking the thing anyway.

Not like Trump is following it from a telescope at Mar-a-Lago

 

I would just bring him a picture of all the satellites and a Sharpie, and let him do it himself, definitively.

Ah, the old if we don't test for it, it doesn't exist playbook.

Nothing like hurting your base just so you can deny climate change.

 

This is one of those headlines where in any other administration you see it and think "there must be a good explanation." You click the link and sure enough - it's clear that professionals weighed the pros, cons, alternatives, and potential impact.

I miss those days when you could assume competence.

 

I wonder if these satellites are studying... or effecting the weather/climate. Talking about it just seems weird.

Given Trump's background, this whole thing feels like McDonnell Douglas's merger with (takeover of) Boeing -- a company that failed at innovation somehow infecting one that has been the shining example of rock solid engineering and innovation and just literally running it into the ground through cost shaving, reductions in quality control and willful negligence in pursuit of profits.

People have lost their lives because of the trajectory the McDonnell Douglas/Boeing merger set that once peerless company on and if you don't think using those same tactics to run a country won't yield the same results (Boeing replaced QC inspectors and project leads who objected to shoddy workmanship the same as Trump just replaced the Labor Statistics head) I think you're in for a rude awakening. The markers are slowing beginning to show....
