Let's re-instate the real dodgeballs while we're at it. I'm talking about those air inflated rubber balls that you could knock a kid off their feet.

Wedgies, swirlies and locker shoveings are dangerously low, bullying must be reinstated so nerds like Elon and Big Balls never become that powerful again

In high school, our PE Coach would would let us earn “Free Day” on Fridays. When we didn’t screw it up and not get it, Dodgeball always won the vote. Multiple size balls and those smaller ones for get your attention

Maybe a little something for a some of the kids to work on. I think some of us started doing sit-ups a week or so before the test so we’d do better.
But it’s not like we kept it year around

I HATED those tests!!! But, we had to do it, so bitching about it did nothing. I think it’s great to get it back. I think today’s kids are too soft as it is. Requiring any semblance of discipline is something I am all for.

According to my youngest, today's gym class is totally brutal.... I don't think I would last a full day in there... All they do is be on their phones and make tik tok videos.... They are so wiped out afterwards(Actual words from her mouth)....
I just couldn't believe the torture they are doing to the kids making them work so hard... (sarcasm dripping as I type this)

Are they at least dancing for the tik tok videos? That counts as cardio I think.

Exercise in school is important but there is only a limited time to do so. It is more important that parents take a bigger role in encouraging their kids to be more active and get more exercise outside of school. Too many kids spend way too much time playing video games in the house and that has to stop.

The rope climb… that wouldn’t fly in today’s bubble wrap safety world.

I had the flexability of a 2 x 4. Never could overcome that.

    Bottom of a pint glass
I was flexible with a long torso and long arms. Basically made for some v sit and reach

Agreed. We need something to toughen up this Xbox generation

I would never be confused with a Trump fan, but high level I have zero problems with a renewed focus on exercise and activity. Kids today need it.

If we are intent on recreating the fascist society from Starship Troopers, they will need to be fit to play that weird version of football so they can jump over the offensive line and also serve as mobile infantry to fight the bug wars

Are they still going to have "Patch"? (For the kids who couldn't make "Presidential" in some events but still hit some threshold.)

I got patch every year, my school still gave you a callout for that. Unfortunately "thinking" wasn't an event.

So apparently pull-ups aren’t part of it. Maybe that was something different or it changed at some point.

I would still fail the V stretch. The rest are pretty mundane. 20 “curl ups” in a minute, 7 push-ups, and, a shuttle run in 14 seconds, and I think it was 1/4 mile “run” that is pretty easy.
