Just got around to watching the SEC Tournament Championship again...

Vol fans are still butthurt over this. They say the refs screwed them and they should have won, leading to a #1 seed, a clear path to the Final 4, no Houston matchup until San Antonio, and a likely NC.

Lots of wishful thinking. But so glad to know we stole that from them.

Everyone that paid attention knows that the Gators were the best team in the SEC at the end of the season.
I went and read a game thread on an Awbrin message board some time after we beat them in the Final Four. It was one unceasing cheese and whine fest once the Gators started closing the gap. Apparently we fouled and held them on every play. Every foul called on Awbrin was a screw job by the refs. It must have been a different game than the one I watched.

 

Probably no comment on Broome’s cheap shot, shoving Condo in the back.

 

Vols have a HC in his 70s now. That usually leads to diminishing returns as they age out.

TJ we didn't steal it from them, they couldn't overcome a better team. Their little pg was over whelmed the whole game. Our defenders made them suffer. After the year before, losing Handlogten, the SEC basketball league is lucky we don't have two straight SEC Championships. Even their coach knew after the massacre at the odome this year, that we were bigger, more physical and a better defensive team overall. Just ask Kelvin Sampson.
Auburn paid for taunting us after their SEC championship win the year before. And by the way, Johnni Broome shouldn't have got the SEC player of the year this year.
We flat out earned the SEC Championship and Walter Clayton was hands down the best player. We will miss him, but the guys coming in want to show their stuff. Florida/Kentucky are the best bets to win the next SEC Championship. Bring it on.

Contrary to their opinion, I think the field was set before Sunday and we would have been a 1 seed even if Tenn beat us. It was a virtual road game too, so no excuses for their idiot fanbase.

 

Interesting. The couple of Vol fans I know didn't expect to win and were quick to accept another big game loss.

Vols had a good season but they were still bummed. Gators with another NC and they have never made a Final 4. The Nico saga has just added to their current misery.
