All charges dropped against Gators cornerback Dijon Johnson following arrest on May 2nd | GatorCountry.com
Yep - He caught a break here and needs to learn from his mistake and move forward. Stay clean and focus on academics, football and character.
Yep, maybe the OP can now change the title to, "nothing to see here..." Lol. We now return you to your regularly scheduled program... Gator Football.
They should have at least made him pay a traffic ticket just so he knows that there will be consequences to actions if he doesn't wise up. A lot of young people don't learn lessons unless there is some kind of discipline.
The most likely scenario is the SAO didn’t like the probable cause for the stop and/or his defense attorney went to deposition and said they’d fight the original reason for the stop. That’s usually how these charges get dropped. If thats the case any traffic violations would also be voided.
If the “synthetic marijuana” was found to be delta products, instead of spice or k2 or something similar, the only charge that’s left is misdemeanor possession of marijuana, which isn’t much more than a traffic ticket now anyway. A lot of times when the cops get some real charges, they don’t even write the traffic violations up. I don’t remember if they stuck in this case or not, but if they didn’t initially write a citation for the traffic stop, I don’t think they could come back later and add that after the more serious charges were tossed. I do agree with Crusher, that teens don’t always learn a lesson if they don’t receive any punishment, but this was a pretty public ordeal. I don’t know that a couple hundred dollar traffic citation would have taught more of a lesson than all the media coverage and (likely) internal team discipline he’s had to face. If there wasn’t enough to learn from here, I don’t think a traffic ticket would have swung the scale much.
Mitch Rapp and Coleman! Good lord those books kept me up wayyyy past my bedtime many nights! The movie was a let down though.
