Played in five different decades in the modern era not counting years in the Negro League (sorry Satchel Paige). I think that there was another guy that started in the 19th Century but only counting modern era. Hint: I grew up a White Sox fan.
My son knew that the designated baserunner was Herb Washington. I vaguely remembered that they had such a guy.

You know back before the Braves moved to Atlanta the Cardinals were the most “southern” team we had to pull for. When we were just kids we would sit in front of the radio at home and listen to the ball game with my Dad.
My mom was a baseball fan ad Sandy K was her favorite. It's how I learned to hate the yanks. I remember the radio and also listening to Curt Gowdy and Tony Kubek on NBC.
We also would listen to Sandy Koufax go head to head with Juan Marichal. I remember that match up being one of the first I saw on TV as well.
I was a fan of the Yankees when I was little. Mickey Mantle, Whitey Ford and company. The Houston Colt 45's started playing in 1962 and in 1963 I got the measles so bad they grew over my eyelids during the night and I couldn't open them for about 10 days. So I started listening to my transistor radio a lot. I found a station out of Shreveport, LA that carried the Colt 45's games. I started listening to them a lot and have been an Astros fan ever since.
