I know Hulk was a Trumper but I think even the board lefties will miss him. Hulk Hogan, WWE legend, dead at 71
Oh .... the former bass player in several local Tampa bands. I remember him from the bar across from the multi-cinema behind Britton Plaza - biggest guy in the room shooting pool. It was sorta the place kids from Plant and Robinson HS mixed and hung out. If I remember the story correctly, Terry Bollea was "discovered" by Jack Briscoe while playing bass in a Tampa bar.
As a 8 or 9 year old, I saw Terry/Hulk beat up a guy at the end of Davis Islands in Tampa. He was big - not as filled out back then, but still big. Who knew back then what the future held? I was just convinced not to ever piss off someone like that.
Malcolm-Jamal Warner also. (Theo Huxtable of Cosby fame) ...and a very good regular role in The Resident. A great hospital drama that recently ended a nice run. It happens in 3's it seems. Edit @wgbgator beat me to it.
Add Chuck Mangione to the list of very recently departed. Man, guess this is another sign one is getting old.
I didn't realize Hogan went to Robinson High School. That would make 4 future pro wrestlers that were at Robinson in 1969. Our Manatee team absolutely destroyed Robinson, wonder if I wrestled any of those guys. I knew Mike Graham and Dick Slater were on that Robinson team both lost their matches to us. Hogan must not have wrestled in high school or I would have remembered him.
My son told me Hulk was told 3 weeks ago his only option was a heart transplant and that he died at home under hospice care
