This will make Americans healthier and safer.

LOL - of course it won't. It will do the opposite!!

But MAGA doesn't care. Because they totally care about the American people whatever Donald Trump tells them to care about.

So, you think that there is NO room for cutting some jobs based on the types of jobs that you know they do? I have to say, that it's sad that people try to sale products that are not properly certified. I know you and I agree that we need more inspections of our food and drugs... farming industry. So, we can agree on that, Tilly.

Maybe your friend's job isn't the one that should be cut? Every business and especially federal agency have some waste. So, I suspect that there might still be room for some cuts. Okay, maybe NOT 90%... but some cuts will till be made. ;)

I never said "no room". I am saying your 90% number would be a catastrophe.

Maybe trim some fat. Maybe make it more efficient like any good business, but no gutting it.

Do you ever feel like you need to learn about the things that you post on? And that whatever "news" services you read are not providing you information, and in fact are doing you a great disservice?

The Trump administration has officially eliminated several food safety committees, including the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Advisory Committee on Microbiological Criteria for Foods (NACMCF) and the National Advisory Committee on Meat and Poultry Inspection (NACMPI). Both were cut through the Executive Order titled "Commencing the Reduction of the Federal Bureaucracy." As the order stated, it eliminates offices and committees that the "President has determined are unnecessary."

The termination of these two important advisory committees is very alarming and should serve as a warning to consumers that food safety will not be a priority at USDA in the foreseeable future," Brian Ronholm, director of food policy at Consumer Reports, shared in a statement provided to Food & Wine. "These expert panels provide impartial scientific advice and recommendations to USDA, FDA, and the CDC on public health issues related to food safety in the U.S. The failure to recognize and leverage the value of this scientific expertise is dangerous and irresponsible.”

Inspectors charged with safeguarding America’s drug supply say they are reeling from deep cuts at the Food and Drug Administration despite promises by the Trump administration to preserve the work of the agency’s investigative force.

Dozens of people who help coordinate travel for complex inspections of foreign drug-making factories have been let go, and though some have since been rehired, inspectors said the ongoing strain of policing an industry spread across more than 90 countries has exhausted staff and could compromise the safety of medications used by millions of people.

These agancies are rearranging their duties and some of these agencies will be combining... some duties will change hands/agencies in the process. This might cut down on duplication and waste.

Hilarious. "Might" is a very fun word. I might start at Left Tackle for the Washington Racists next year, too.

But in case you want to tune in to reality, here is what's been happening; Trump has been gutting every health/service-providing/educational/ etc. agency possible, in order to give the false perception that he's "cutting spending." And he's spending over 8 times the "saved" amount on giving people like himself a tax cut. The numbers don't lie.

Why? Because he wants a tax cut. And he doesn't give a rat's ass about the American people.

People like you who support this while claiming to have things you value, or even claiming to be aware of what's going on are ..... just enabling a criminal who is acting against your all of our interests.

As they say in the film classic The Great White Hype; "Brother, wake up!!!"

Semantics gymnastics? Is that all you got? We only know what is written in news and what people impart to us in various video feeds. If you know it all, then please tell us what we're all missing.

The "science" is not settled, and science is never settled. I guess they'll figured out another way to get the facts that they need to do their jobs.

They are there to work with in a framework to make sure people are not getting away with polluting/poisoning the world. They are not there to invent new reasons to invent NEW legislation.

Well, not exactly. "We" know these things. Because we read about them, such as in the two damn links I provided, out of many I could have chosen of course.

"You" don't know anything at all, because you probably not only didn't read those links, you almost certainly didn't actually read anything at all on the subject. You just chose to believe what you want to, which is whatever makes you feel good about your reality TV adulterer felon. :)

Lol. Yeah, right: CNN, New York Times, Washington Post, etc., etc., are just the same thing as : Fox News, Newsmax, OANN, BoSnerdley.com, whatever other drivel righty Trumpies ingest.

Not even close. Your "both sides"ing is again inaccurate. As on so much else recently, on this issue the sewer is inhabited solely by the right.

I remember Anderson Cooper standing in a ditch to pretend it was a flood. :)

    I don't remember that.

Did he have to pay out $800 million because, while in the ditch, he was telling defamatory lies to support the lies of someone illegally trying to overturn an election?

    ^ "Both sides" though, right?

(And respectfully, it's now time for you to sit this one out. In fact, until the MAGA criminals leave, it's [long past] time to sit out defending the right's criminal enablers.]

I'm struggling to understand this position, which would put you directly at odds with the Trump Administration. Aren't these all just government "libs" living off the government teat? I thought these were the bad guys, the "deep state", the ones who hold MAGA back?
