We're mostly where we have been the past 3 years, which is pretty good, except we took specialists in the kicking game that pulled us done some last year; otherwise last year was our best in a while.
I agree, but there is also a chance that we're just splitting hairs... believing the accuracy of these polls to begin with.
If you are going to put all your faith in a star poll then this type would be a better indicator of success or failure. . However it does give indication s that UF is doing enough to compete talent wise at a high level. The prevailing thought is Texas is killing it but there they are just behind Florida.
Probably because of how many DL they took from us, but they are still pulling some top players and have a high average despite taking 3 kicking specialists that weigh them down big time in average compared to us.
Yep , getting the proper holes filled with that talent is just as important. Having five 5* qbs may make it the top class in the nation but helps very little to have guys on the bench that will never play a down. Napier has done a good job in three years of creating a roster that doesnt need a ton of portal players. We are short at dt at the moment but its only one position and you cant really plan on the Shivers debacle.
I think it does show a decent aggregate of talented depth on a team, and that is the currency by which the SEC runs on. The better our overall depth is... the higher we climb.
Hoping UF gets verbals from 2 or 3 more of the kids we are recruiting, and in on, before fall practice, most of those I see on our board are pretty high ranked. Even if we don't sign anyone else before fall camp I think UF is in excellent shape going into the season. As has been stated numerous times by many on this board, myself included, a good regular season showing, should propel UF into a strong ESD finish. We were 7th, in one service, last cycle (with some late additions when the smoke cleared. I would like to see UF meet or exceed that ranking on NSD.
Texas has to be moving up. Two most recent commits were both 5 stars. Keep getting top rated RBs from Florida
Our overall quality is suppressed for taking four(?) 3 star type OL. Not an excuse, staff took them. Some could develop into good>great OL. We have good quality overall and staff just has to get them ready.
