W. Bryan Hubbard was on Theo Von last weekend. He is very good at articulating his position on ibogaine. Apparently, he has teamed up with former Texas governor Rick Perry. I’m not ready to endorse the use of psychedelics to treat PTSD, but I noticed it is legal in Canada, France, Australia and New Zealand by prescription. Like other plant-based medicines, it has its detractors here in the States. An excellent interview, just on the current state of affairs, if nothing else and a valid discussion.
You should read the Fear and Loathing books of you haven’t. Written a long time ago, but hysterically funny. If I recall, I think Hubert Humphrey was described as an Ibogaine addict in one of them— I believe Fear and Loathing in the Campaign Trail.
Funny, but as mentioned, it’s a schedule I hear in the States. But available by prescription in Canada, France, NZ, Australia…. why a schedule I here? Sounds eerily familiar.
Regardless of your thoughts on the subject matter, there are some very interesting points made in these interviews. For example, the drugs, such as methadone that they used to wean people today off of opioids, are made and produced by the same companies who made and created the opioid crisis in the first place. I did not know that. In other words, the big Pharma companies that created the opioid crisis are the ones providing the solution to its victims. Kind of scary.
Excep Except the pattern of and his last name? Edit: did some digging, no relation. Just found it curious was all.
Methadone is not very widely used anymore for opiate use disorder. Buprenorphine has been the first line drug to battle opioid dependence since the early 2000's. It is more effective and way safer than methadone, which has its Effective Dose and Lethal Dose very close to one another on the curve.
