The 4*WR will announce this afternoon at 2 p.m. S-Carolina is my pick. I will give the reasons after the announcement.

He was favored to Florida until he basically let his agent decide where he goes. South Carolina and then Miami are willing to overpay for him...and Florida will not. Also Miami has struck out on recruits the last couple of weeks and need a boost.

This is ripe for conflict of interest. The more Miami overpays, the more the agent gets.

Not going to sweat a WR after last year's haul. Looks like he goes to a rival either way. When will we play SC again?

That's not a conflict of interest. It's the exact opposite: the agent does better if the player does better.

If the player has other interests above and beyond maximizing his money, he's the one in charge and can dictate to his agent accordingly.

Yeah, UF refused to meet the offer SW and agent wanted. UF is very happy with the WR room as it sits and the two committed thus far. Over paying for a guy who might be the #8 WR on the team was not something the staff wanted to do. I say use the money for a DL guy.

You’re 100% correct. I used the wrong words — what I meant to say is that an agent is motivated to steer his client to the biggest bag, regardless of whether or not that school/team is the best fit for the player. Playing time, roster depth, coaching at his position, conference, distance from home/family, even academic major all factor in to what is best for the kid — but the agent is potentially faced with a “conflict” opposite what puts the most money in his wallet.

Watched his film last night and was hoping we were NOT going to get him. Most of his catches were jump balls. He looked like a small TE that had some shiftiness. He didn't run away from anyone...

And the Gators aren't hurting at WR! Besides, we won't tp pay more for a top recruit or tp!!

I've not hid my opinion of Davian Groce and apparently I'm not the only one. An insider connected to NIL just said he is UF's #1 target at WR. I suspect it is Groce or stay at 2 this cycle.

Let me add, I have nothing against taking Wingo, it's just setting priorities with resources.

Not football related, but ask Freddie Freeman about agents and "ethics."

That still irks me to this day as a Braves fan. Made me sad to see him in Atlanta at the All Star game in a dodgers uniform.
