Its all BS, of course. NIL became legal and overnight Texas became the hottest recruiting destination in the country. It doesn't take a rocket surgeon to figure out why.

Some kids want to stay home.. UMD is an awesome school that happens to play in the Big Ten and also has produced as many, if not more, successful NFL players as a “first rate” football team like UF has over the past couple decades. I’d be more willing to take the top 5 Terps in the league and compare them to the top 5 Gators. So it’s not like he won’t get recognized at Maryland. It’s not like he won’t play vs top tier football programs in amazing venues. And it’s not like he’s not going to get 1 million+

Look I’m a Gator fan above all else and one that’s witnessed every national championship the university has won so if it was me making a decision where to play the next 3-5 years I’d be in Gainesville but these 17 year olds haven’t seen UF do a damn thing.. they didn’t witness the Spurrier era in the 90s or the Meyer years. They’ve seen Jim McElwain, Will Muschamp, Billy Napier, and Dan Mullen. They’ve seen losing seasons. They’ve seen numerous busts at the next level. They haven’t seen UF in the playoff. They’ve seen Kentucky beat UF multiple times. They’ve seen Vandy beat UF. They saw Miami curb stomp UF in Gainesville last year. To a great deal of out of state kids Florida is no different than Ole Miss, So Carolina, Mizzou, Auburn, Michigan St, Iowa, Wisconsin, and yes even Maryland.

You made a great case as to why maryland is just as good as Florida but its still a bad take. If the kid is that confused, go to Ohio State, hes the number one kid in the nation. Id guess Florida has put at least three times the players in the league in this kids lifetime.
