Yeah, let's look at the data. Producer Price Index by Industry: Hardware Manufacturing Oh. Hardware production prices are way up. Glad that all of those businesses are extremely high margin. Well, I guess this all must be why Home Depot is doing so well...because they are positioned so well in regards to the tariffs... https://www.reuters.com/business/te...home-depot-lowes-under-microscope-2025-05-19/ Oh.
If Home Depot and other companies don't boost prices they will be making less profit which negatively affects the economy (fewer jobs, less growth). There's no free lunch here. Someone has to pay the tax.
I really can't understand why this is such a difficult concept to understand. Not to mention, it's a bit early to be spiking the football considering most tariffs haven't even taken effect yet.
I promised I would save the Homer City Power Plant that Biden's Green New Scam forced to shut down — and I'm pleased to report that with a $15B dollar investment from Knighthead Capital Management, the Homer City site is being resurrected as the largest natural gas-fired power plant EVER in North America.
Hilarious. Trump is going to do that fake manufacturing investment thing again. I guess he thinks the rubes will fall for this con a second time. He's probably right, but let's check out how that went the first time. (Thank God Biden got something done there, at least) Trump’s promised ‘manufacturing miracle’ failed to materialize On May 9, President Joe Biden traveled to Racine, Wisconsin to announce a plan by Microsoft to build a $3.3 billion data center. The White House said that it expects the project to result in 2,300 unionized construction jobs and 2,000 permanent jobs in the area. The site selected by Microsoft is the same site where, in 2017, then-President Donald Trump announced a $10 billion investment by Foxconn for a manufacturing facility. By 2021, Foxconn abandoned most of its plans and never delivered on promise to bring 13,000 new jobs. https://wisconsinindependent.com/infrastructure/trump-promise-manufacturing-miracle-failed-foxconn/ Pretty funny how he's pointing for the camera in one of his typical pseudo-alpha poses ..... before he fails yet again.
Maybe people see a train wreck as it's about to happen and want to warn people about it. It's sad how the right willfully ignores the train wreck and pretends that everything is fine. None of us on this board has any significant impact on whether the country succeeds or fails. We're just commentators on what's going on. I think virtually all of us (with the possible exception of a few Russian trolls) want the country to succeed. Trump does have a pattern of making outrageous promises that fall flat on their faces when it comes time to get something done. If a democrat did such a thing, you would be all over it, calling him a liar, and an enemy of America. When Trump does it, it's part of the plan, or the failure was inevitable and out of his control, or he was sabotaged by liberals. "It's not his fault!"
