Our pockets get deeper for the right player. Not Texas deep but competitive. Just not stupid money because Auburn wants to overspend for an Edge guy way past their value.
Why? Seems logical. They've beaten us 4 straight years and finished way higher in the final rankings (including a couple of nat championships), have a more highly respected head coach nationally and probably have as deep a pockets as us (if not deeper). I would expect we would only get those that they don't really care about.
on top of that they can point to the fact that they have been churning out draft picks on D and specifically DL
Last draft first round DE, a 5th and 6th round DL, a 6th rounder in 2024. Less than I expected. Comparatively however, we have had one Cam Jackson 5th round in two drafts.
yep. Plus these kids know what they’re signing up for going to UGA. If you can rise above and become a starter, you’re darn near guaranteed to be a draft pick. We can’t say the same
I think that has a lot to do with the kids talent. ETN was still ETN after going to Georgia. There's no magical coaching that turns play players into superhumans. Most of these kids are born that way. All it takes is a lot of hard work if they have the talent. The list of the greatest quarterbacks of all time in the NFL do not have a list of high school and college coaches to match them.
