(SB) Ongoing UF Softball Commentary

I won’t miss her. Besides the called errors, there were many plays missed because of slow reaction time, a little clumsiness, being out of position making the wrong throw. Maybe a little head problem. That’s TT’s problem now!

 

And then she would make the occasional phenomenal play. Go figure.

 

If Georgina would dump Britain and come to USA National she would be the ace of the staff. She is as close to unhittable as you can get.

 

lol...kiss of death....as soon as I said that she gave up a bomb to Bubba Nickels. But, I stand on the original assessment.

 

I'm really suprised with how bad the Volts have done in AUSL. I thought they would be the clearly dominant team

 

While I think I agree ..I would have chosen different verbiage for that last sentence.

 

Cassidy’s team won the FGCL summer league championship:

 

No doubt she can play at an SEC level

 

If she can stay healthy and play anywhere near her potential she is a lock in the outfield.

 

I sat her her table at the First Pitch Banquet last February. She’s a sweet and intelligent young lady. Her goal after softball is to be a registered nurse.

 

Jocey competes today in the softball home run derby sponsored by MLB. I hope she has a really good showing. On a good day, she could be capable of winning.

 

Skylar with a two run bomb off of Fouts. Her third of the year. Also leading the league in stolen bases. Also made a "climbing the ladder" more than humanly possible earlier in the game to rob a sure double gapper. (lol...game was this afternoon but I taped it....seems live to me.)

 

And who was the top 1 or 2 position players on that team that won the FGCL league? Just a hint, she was an allstar in the league and left the gators after this past season... just a hint. I have yet to get a response from Rick what his qualifications are to him judging these players. He loves to get my messages deleted and ban me. I am just asking simply questions to the percieved knower of all here (rick). Have him answer the question, I know he saw it, but I will reiterate it for him, not you ( however if you want to answer for him, please do).....

Rick, what qualifications do you have to judge any of these young women? Have you been a collegiate coach, have you been a high level travel ball coach? Have you been a softball coach at any level including rec? Do you have a daughter that played some level of collge ball? Please inform me and the rest so we can understand where your evaluations are coming from.

 

This is weird, and I'm not sure of the point. Why ask a leading question instead of just offering your take?

This is a message board, so why does someone need credentials to offer their opinion? I'm pretty sure if you abide by the rules, you're more than free to offer an opposing view if you feel like it.

 

How is it weird? Rick seems like he knows everything and make judgements on young women based on what? I know way more than he does about softball and, especially college softball. He degraded a couple players that left, and he is completely wrong. If he wants to make judgement then at least qualify himself for doing so. It's sad everyone here just follows along like lemmings with what this guy has to say, that's why I ask for his credentials. It's pretty simple, I want to know where his ideas come from, that is all.

The players that left did so for a reason. Anyne outside of the UF fandom knows the repuation of the program. That's facts, same as OU softball. If you are/were involved at a high level softball you would know the reputations of certain programs.... some are blinded to it though, as was my friend.

The fact is the reason for asking is to understand what his evaluation level is. You all do realize, that 3 of the players taht left UF this year were allstars in the FGCL, right? That says a lot to the program and what rick thinks he knows. Just let him give me what he thinks are his qualifications to make these evaluations that he does.... that's all I want, as he seems to be the king here that most bow down to.

 

I read that Layla Lamar had a really good summer in the FGCL. Who were the other two ex-UF players who starred in the summer league? How did Cassidy do?

 

He's back after an apparent long absence. Must have been banned again. Much to your disappointment, I've never done anything to cause you to be banned or have anything deleted. You apparently earn it yourself or someone else is helping. If I want to get rid of you, all I have to do is block you. Other than that, not wasting any time or effort.

 

Have you made your qualifications known? If you have, sorry I missed them.
I don’t know what the fuss from you is about?
All of us are going to be right and wrong at times.
If you disagree, just say what your opinion is and don’t criticize the poster.
And, don’t criticize the players personally. Just post stats without commenting on the player’s personality, etc.
I will say this, Rick hit it out of the park with Taylor.

 

Are you insinuating that UF has a bad reputation in high level softball circles? That what it seems to me and if you are saying that I'd be interested to hear more.
