Low IQ individuals discovering and becoming addicted to social media. What does that look like after 10 or 15 years? They are, in effect, junkies.
Despite reports of FEMA's response being delayed for three days because Noem had to sign off on it, Trump said she's doing a great job. And he knows that because he saw her on TV. Trump praises Noem’s disaster response – because he saw her on TV
Coast Guard hero rescues 165 people from Texas Hill Country floodwaters The Coast Guard falls under DHS Secretary Noem and they responded early on the morning of the 4th. FEMA falls under Noem as well, so if you are implying a slow federal response I think that is incorrect.

So the area has a history of flooding. "The same Texas county devastated by catastrophic flooding over the Fourth of July weekend has experienced deadly flooding numerous times in the past." The same river killed 10 people in '87 But the only time they only asked the federal government for aid was when Trump was president. Not HW Bush right after it happened last time or Clinton or Obama or anyone else in the last almost forty years? I wonder what made them wait 30 years to ask and then not ask again when Biden was POTUS. That's very unusual.
They were OFFERED those things under both the Obama and Biden administrations and refused both times. It’s well documented. Some of this is hubris. I live in LA. Ton of buildings here that probably need to be brought up to modern earthquake code but because they’ve withstood all the quakes that have come before people figure why bother.
Ism't the Coast Guard federal? To me it looks like a good example of different agencies working together.
It seems those on the left are trying desperately to point blame at Noem and FEMA. As I said earlier, both the Coast Guard and FEMA fall under DHS. So it is a good example of leadership where the Coast Guard did not have to wait for Noem's OK. My goodness, if they had waited then criticism would be justified.
Scott Ruskan: This US Coast Guard rescue swimmer saved over 100 people from Texas flood | CNN Not sure what time frame you are asking about but here is a story on people being rescued.
I wouldn't look at it so simply. Asking the Googles "who dispatches the Coast Guard?" and . . . The United States Coast Guard is dispatched by its own command centers, which are part of the larger Coast Guard structure. These centers, often staffed by Operations Specialists, coordinate and dispatch units for various missions, including search and rescue, law enforcement, and national defense. While 911 can be a starting point for contacting the Coast Guard in emergencies, it's the Coast Guard's own command centers that ultimately dispatch their resources. Per the source I shared, this instance saw the CG being dispatched locally.
It seems to me you were desperate to pat Noem on the back when in fact she had nothing to do with the situation being discussed.
According to multiple reports, Trump and Noem instituted a new rule which required her OK before FEMA responded. That took three days. Is that not worth discussion here? And according to the NYT, FEMA's contract with hundreds of call center employees ended on July 5. It was not renewed for five days so many calls went unanswered. Again, worth discussing? But, yes, it tends to be those on the left who will find fault with the federal response under Trump just like it tended to be those on the right who found fault with federal response under Biden. But at least I haven't seen any claims as outrageous as we had last year, such as Biden gave all the FEMA money to illegal immigrants so there was none for North Carolina.
