Mamdani has suggested free buses in NYC, one grocery store owned by the city in each borough that will be able to offer lower prices to people who can’t afford to shop in the supermarkets there, some form of limited rent control, and the construction by private companies of lower cost housing. Not only is that not communism, but these ideas have been discussed, and, in many cases, have been tried elsewhere in the United States. So I don’t have a clue what your reference is to communism or to the definition of insanity. Do you care to explain in a little more detail?

I've heard it said that Mandani is actually everything people on the Right claimed Obama was back in '08. Born in Africa, Socialist, and Muslim. Republicans are probably going to invest millions of dollars to make this guy the next AOC or Pelosi.
On a related note It's crazy these big cities won't vote someone in to clean up the out of control mess going on. The gentleman pictured here was mayor for the eight years prior. But you likely wouldn't have bothered to post a snide one picture reply if he were the one currently in office.
Agree but whether it will actually work remains to be seen. They tried to make AOC and Pelosi the face(s) of the Democratic party in 2020 and in the end the Democrats won the White House, held their majority in the House and managed to flip the Senate.
I think both parties try and play up the perceived boogie man on the other side. For years, Pelosi has been the one for Republicans. Prior to Trump, I believe Ted Cruz was one for Democrats. Same with Mitch McConnell. I think they typically look for people who are not going anywhere for a while and they invest money in playing them up to be the face of the opposition to their voters and fundraisers. It probably makes the fundraisers jobs easier to say things like "Do you really want Mitch McConnell running the Senate if a SCOTUS seat opens up?" If Mandani were to win, Republicans are probably going to paint him as the future of the Democratic party.
Republicans don’t have to. The dem party will do it themselves. Omar, AOC, Mamdani , crocket. Like it or not, those ARE the faces of the modern dem party. Heck.
