Ole Miss lol. If ever there was a more predictable team to have at least two inexcusable blunders, it’s them.
Oklahoma? Yeah, they have NO chance to get though the SEC, much less to a Natty. I think the Gators have a better chance of getting there than Oklahoma does.
They did call it a Hail Mary, and said 66-1. I’d probably put our odds at better than that. How much better? Not sure.
I wonder how many people just placed crazy futures bets on these teams. CREAM (Cash Rules Everything Around Me).
Well we are +4000 for winning the NC which would be exactly 40-1. Not for nothing we are +425 at most books currently for making the CFP which is about 14.25% chance or 14-1 I think? Would be much higher if it weren’t for schedule.
I don't agree w/Ole Miss, but the other three are definite sleepers, and I think OU might be the top of the crop of those other three. They're new QB was at WA State, is a proven high-level performer, and has all the tools.
DJ would have to have an unbelievable sophomore year for us to even be in the conversation. It could happen. I just think the injury bug will test our depth too much. Brutal 4 game crunch there with Miami, lsu, Texas and a&m.
Schedule is our biggest problem. Again. We have at most the hardest schedule in the NCAA again and possibly the 2nd. The odd thing is, we would be second or first based on how good we are or not but it's the reason the SEC is so hard.
The Gators were on lists like this last year. Need all your portal kids and HS recruits to mesh. Timing is everything. The “one and done” players like at Duke require them to start over each year.
We do have a more seasoned team coming back than in years past. Not a ton of guys like Banks that are verified Sunday guys but the lineup will be guys tgat were on tge field last year and alot of potential.
At 20-1 odds, LSU record in the 2024 season was 9-4 compared to Florida at 8-5. A mere one-game difference in the win totals. For Florida, just getting to the CFP's would be high odds (somebody try to estimate them) much less defeating 3-4 more playoff caliber-teams in winning the whole thing! Granted Florida in the 2024 season was blown out more often than LSU (3x to 1x): UF-Miami: 17-41 (pitiful! Do better this season.) UF-Georgia: 20-34 (Kept it under 40 points, lol) UF-at Texas: 17-49 (Rushing attack was promising in 2nd half) LSU-Alabama: 13-42. 2024 LSU Fighting Tigers Schedule and Results | College Football at Sports-Reference.com In my opinion, NC-contenders don't get beat by more than one TD! That can't happen again this season or it's back to the 'ole drawing board for Florida.
