Another fluff piece on what kind of president Donald Trump is, driving his clown car so expertly through life's troubles. Even though he is mentally disabled, he believes he knows more than everyone else, and his decisions are infallible. He is susceptible to people who tell him what he wants to hear, he fires experts who might question his decisions, leaving us with the inescapable conclusion that no one is in charge. Decisions appear to be randomly made, and it's not because Trump is playing 3D chess. He's playing poker (with America's future), but he's not playing with a full deck. He's been out-smarted repeatedly by Putin. Lot's of winning going on--the losing will start soon enough. It's just the way things go with a second rate dictator like Trump (or Mussolini). The corporate media "experts" hold back the full explanation and outright lie. They spin the narrative. A widget from Mexico may be sold to an import company in the US for, say $5. A 30% tariff costs $1.50, which is added to the price of the widget and paid by the import company. The tariff cost does not apply to the $50 retail price. Tariffs are more than just balancing trade. ] So they are saying we've added 2 million native-born jobs and subtracted 543 thousand foreign-born jobs for an implied total of 1,457,000 new jobs since Trump took office. How do they reconcile that with the official BLS jobs numbers showing 671,000 new jobs since January?
And this happened when Biden was president U.S. Treasury reports record budget surplus in April as revenues soar
So you think the import company pays the 30% tax and does not pass any of the cost increase on to its customers?
Just wondering ….. would a foreign manufacturer effectively absorb … or at least subsidize ….. the tariff by lowering is selling price to its US customer? These companies have fixed costs to cover, employees to retain, and markets to protect so they may be willing to take a margin haircut to maintain their unit sales.
