In addition to the adultery he does have something else in common with Trump, both were charged with multiple felonies. Trump was convicted of a number of those felonies while the other charges were dropped after he was elected in effect the result of his immunity from prosecution as the defacto king. Paxton essentially got off the hook through a plea bargain (see post #36). Not worse than Trump although mainly because he has doesn't have remotely close to the power of the Orange One.

Speaking for self, the fraud means a lot more to me than the adultery. I've grown more cynical in my old age about politicians and their marriages. The ones who have not used their power to step out on their spouse or steal someone else's spouse are probably the exception. And, yeah, I take your point about the "party of family values," even if that is somewhat of a term more from the early 90s than today. I hope you'll take mine that the other party is supposed to be the "party of economic justice," yet the insider trading and use of their public trust to gain personal wealth is staggeringly normal among its elected leaders. If the ultimate lesson here is that our politicians are all a bunch of hypocrites, then, yes, I agree. One of the reasons I will never be one.

100%. He is so bad he was impeached (or the equivalent) by the Republican TX legislature. He only got off because Trump pressured Republicans to back off. He is extremely vocal in enforcing abortion laws even against women who are in medical danger. He does all of this and then says “Jesus this, God that”.

I know, right... when the Dems and the RINOs get together to destroy him he has to be the worst of the worst. Just that along makes him a Patriot.

Surprising. Paxton is a very well known Republican official and he's in the news all the time. Went through an impeachment but wasn't removed from office, though he clearly should have been. He's got a massively long wiki page because of all of his scandals and political extremism.

As you probably know, I’m more of an international affairs guy.
