I think UF knew exactly what was going on but refused to play the game others wete playing. Was it integrity or fear of sanctions, that's debatable. As soon as we could legally pay, we get DJ and thats no coincidence. Parity is happening somewhat because the kids can go to any school and get cash now and many would rather start than be depth pieces given the paycheck is similar. Syracuse just bought a nice player that more than likely would have chosen otherwise in years past. The same teams pretty much are still buying the top rosters but they arent stacking positions four deep anymore.
Makes me think that the staff with the best game planning, training and in-game coordination stand the best chance of making playoffs. Schedule helps, but in the SEC every team has a tough schedule. True, an ACC-like team will have a playoff spot easier than most SEC teams. By in-game coordination, I mean staff communication and being able to real time adjust and know WTH is actually happening to their team or needs to happen for their team.
Texas, Georgia and Alabama seem to have the better rosters and the inside trap but it's tough to get that fourth spot in the SEC. Old miss was trying for it last year and we knocked them out. There are a lot of decent programs fighting for that last SEC playoff spot. Old mess seemed to have it locked up and how do you get stopped on fourth and One that many times. I mean what are the odds.

What sre the odds it would go down like tgat in consecutive games. Maybe our front seven was just better than the ones it worked on all year. Our guys made some great plays to stop him. Their qb threw the ball to us late too.
