With the team we have coming back? I would feel that way with only 8 wins, yes. But... I might not be disappointed with 9 wins if we're competitive.
I've been looking at the meaningless preseason ratings and mostly we face seven ranked teams with three or four of those being in the top 10. If those rankings are right, we have a ton of games to fight it out in
Assuming we win all 6 home games (including Texas ), what 3 teams are we beating on the road? Or, with a more likely loss to Texas, what 3 teams are we beating on the road besides Kentucky?
Going to be tough and if we do, those still bitching about Napier are delusional. I mean, Kirby with his fake kick to whatever that qbs name was was some really awesome coaching. I called it when i saw him in tge backfield and Saban probably almost laughed himself to death.
Not to be a kill joy, and we won't lose to Rhode Island, however USF is not a given, UF has to play focused and not overconfident. Bama has struggled against them.......under Saban. My concern is less about "winning" against them, but playing well, and putting the hurt on em. I want our boys believing they can win at Red Stick and want them brimming with confidence, so butt kickin USF would be just the tonic for that. We OWE LSU some pain and I would love to see Kelly get chomped at home. Given LSU's propensity for losing their opener every year, and there is a darn good chance Clemson continues that streak in 25, a second loss early, to the Gators, just might open up a can of worms, and have some of those cruits, like Henderson, reconsidering where they want to be come National Signing Day.
The Bama LB's were actively pointing out Fields before the snap. Why he didn't call a TO and just kick is beyond me because Bama obviously recognized the potential fake pre-snap.
Yep, and in that case we'd have to have been competitive in the 3 losses, that's why I said I would be okay with that scenario.
100% spot-on. Wes had incredible natural juke, the Auburn catch was legendary. Wish we could find that video. I agree with your assessment comparing Harvin.

#39 Dale Van Sickel TE (1927-29) Van Sickel, who went to Gainesville High, was the Gators’ first All-American, earning the honor as a junior in 1928. He and Clyde “Cannonball” Crabtree were one of the best pass-catch duos in the nation. He also played baseball and basketball, and later became one of the leading stunt men in Hollywood. Among the movies he appeared in: “Spartacus,” “North by Northwest” and the 1954 version of “A Star is Born.” His last credit was in the movie “Duel,” which was Steven Spielberg’s directorial debut. #39 Nat Moore, RB/WR (1972-73) An unknown player who had been driving a truck in Miami, Moore came to UF as a junior college transfer in 1972 and was an instant success, quickly emerging as one of the most electrifying offensive players the school had ever seen. He switched to No. 33 for his senior season. Incredible Miami Dolphin career. (also known as Nats Moore - Gator insider joke). Other notables: RB Larry Brinson, FB Chris Bilkie, FB Cedric Smith, RB Joe Henderson.
Van Sickel beat me out as the starter in 28, now you know why.................... Nat Moore was unreal, so damn good.
Wes was so special. I know the Gators have MANY great receivers in their storied history, but if I was picking it would be damn hard not to have this guy in the all time two deep. Think what he would have been like in a real Gator passing offense! (frickin Dickie......)
Even though Kirby isnt a genius, he overtalents other teams pretty well. Hes not out scheming others like SOS did. Even though Spurrier was innovative, we still had overwhelming talent in 96. He was a genius every year but only won it all once and talent was a huge part of that.
And I can see calling a time out at that point and just straight up going for it, but that play was stupid. If you're gonna try to put a fake, you cannot put that dude in the backfield unless you think saban is completely brain dead
