Even if they were, there is no Palestinian state for them to advocate on behalf of, nor have they had the balls to suggest that criticism of Hamas and its policies is a form anti-Muslim bigotry, much less have that accepted by much of the US government

 

I have no problem with fair criticism of the ADL or Israel, but the linked article is in the context of accepting an endorsement from CAIR while cutting ties with the ADL.

 

What do you mean "accepting an endorsement?" CAIR released their own independent statement saying they supported the NEA vote, for a policy that isnt even finalized, because the executive committee has the last word. If they adopt CAIR's materials on the holocaust or anti-Semitism, get back to me.

 

I am Jewish. Screw the ADL. They betrayed American Jews by trading defense of civil liberties for defense of Israel's government.

Yeah, I’ve been among the most vocal people here about recent antisemitism, and while I doubt the NEA did it entirely for the “right” reasons, the ADL has basically been a political arm of Israel for a while now and has largely abandoned their more inclusive message of times past. They made their own bed, shouldn’t be surprised when stuff like this happens. I just hate the optics of it, given the times we are in.

 

This has to easily be the biggest ethnic cleansing fail in history

about 2 years ago I found myself at a symposium of Jews and Christians. In the Q&A part of this program, I asked the 5 Jewish people on the dais the question of why the American Jew votes almost 100% with the democrats and one gave this answer and the other 4 agreed. Not sure why you would find this statement offensive!

 

Making a stereotypical claim about what "the American Jew" values is about as offensive and silly as a non-Christian claiming what "the American Christian" values.

BTW, on this thread we've had claims from conservatives that the American Jew is always liberal and that the left hates all things Jewish. I guess we can say that the American conservative is very confused.

 

Morris was not forced to resign over the allegations about his stepdaughter that were publicly known in 1979. He was forced to resign due to sexual harassment complaints from SPLC staff members. Whichever Too Hot poster claimed that is either misinformed or is just clout chasing.
