Trump beat Harris in their debate. Per everyone that matters. Job #1 was to have the most memorable line of the debate.

If you don't bet on elections you won't get it. Those of us who bet on Trump felt really good after the debate.

The growing deficits are definitely a ticking time bomb for this country and are not being given anywhere near the priority they should. Only someone uninformed would plan to "ride it out" and not have a solid Plan B in place, IMO.

This is also right up there in importance. So many wasted $Trillions over the last decades and infrastructure is in very poor shape and highly vulnerable.

Well, as you know, as I stated then, I never saw a plausible scenario where Kamala was not the heir apparent. It would have broken the chain of command in more ways than one, especially when we’re talking about Democrats. Frankly, as I look back, it appears they had a plan laid out for her for a long time. The other options being discussed at the time (Obama, Newscum) never had any viability, in my opinion.

If you read up on what the Biden team thought of Harris, they were actively saying Biden could not drop out because Harris would be the nominee and she would lose in a landslide. They kept referring to her a “work in progress.”

Not sure if this mentioned already but Biden not agreeing to be one term president destroyed his legacy.

I don't need a link... not unless I start a thread. Refute it, with a link, if you don't believe me. ;)

The mistake they made was naming her VP in the first place. Once that happened, they were always going to be faced with a scenario where they would effectively be denying a ‘black woman’ the natural, presumed order of succession if they didn’t allow her to have it. They created their own mess. Not even quite sure how Biden ever ascended to the presidency. He’s always been a day late and a dollar short wherever he’s been.

As much as I hated Biden's policies and actions I was scared to death in his last 2 years that something would happen to him and Kamala would be the POTUS. Damn that was scary.

What makes you think it was a mistake and not an insurance policy for a Biden second term?

Just a guess but maybe her selection as VP was a condition agreed to by Biden in exchange for the endorsement of James Clyburn. Keep in mind that the road to the Democratic presidential nomination goes through Black voters in the South especially Black women. Prior to Clyburn's endorsement Biden had lost the Iowa caucuses and the New Hampshire Democratic primary. After Clyburn's endorsement he won South Carolina in a landslide and swept every primary in the South.

If Biden wanted an African American woman that he knew could do the job and who was super experienced, he could have picked Susan Rice. I believe Clyburn and couple other Southern AA Democratic Politicians stated that they just wanted an African American as his running mate and they likely knew it would have to be a woman.
