He will be covered by second rate corners for three years and if he has a good qb could put up numbers. He gets the cash, numbers and has no other talent to compete against for playing time. Take that easy road.
I love seeing this. One less 5* that the heavy spenders can stockpile. We need Louisville to jump in now.
I mean , if you compare them to the nfl in relationship to what college football brings in, its not all that surprising.
My only argument Wanne is: The NFL is one sport, Universities have MANY and yes, I realize a UF woman's lacrosse player and many other such sports don't pay out anything like the money for Football or men's Basketball players but at the very least these sports have coaches, equipment and travel to pay for. Universities can't compete with the NFL in terms of dollars. Most NFL franchises don't even pay for their own stadiums. (Which I find ridiculous). My point is, I wonder when this house of cards comes tumbling down. Boosters and NIL (I guess) must have limits. I "think" Ojo may be the exception but dropping that kind of coin on UNPROVEN H.S. players is just unreal to me. It also suggests to me this game is for sale to the richest American oligarchs when you see this kind of thing. Of course it could all be B.S. because we are not seeing the contracts, just the hype shots.
Id love to see DJ's contract. Everthing we hear is speculation but we have never heard one utterance of speculation that the top qb in hs we anywhere for 250k a year. Who knows if football seperates as to not carry entire sports programs or not but id think thats would be discussed. Id also thing it generates enough cash for a select few teams to form a financially legitimate league where players are paid a good fraction of what nfl players make.
Id be nice to take a player or two away from them from the top of their class but id much rather we stick it to the mutts.
