AG Bondi has Epstein client list sitting on her desk

Wow, so now they are saying that the list doesn't exist. Im wondering what story will be used to justify this. Here is your chance for a good one.

 

You make good points and it is hard to understand the prosecutions. OJ, Casey Anthony, George Zimmerman, Diddy were all, IMO overcharged based on the available evidence. And let’s not even start discussing the Duke LaCrosse case. Prosecutors are not immune from doing stupid things for their 15 minutes of fame.

If politicians want to be transparent, then they need to release files on criminal cases with no redactions unless it is an espionage related case where the redactions are understandable, but should still be minimal

 

Hmmm....now a right wing talk show host/FBI director says it doesn't exist. Are they lying to you now to hide the list or were they lying to you when they told you they had the list that they are now staying doesn't exist? Honestly, those are the only two options. They can't reasonably claim that they thought they had a list that turned out to not be a list....

 

Yeah, even Stringer Bell understood that you don't keep the minutes of a criminal conspiracy.

 

BTW, while pointing and laughing at the nonsense can be fun, it is little more than empty calories. The reality of this is far darker.

This is one of the key elements of turning reality into entertainment. You take a dude who clearly liked abusing underage women and was friends or rich guy "friends" (what you and I would call acquaintances) with a bunch of powerful people, some of whom likely shared his interest and some of whom likely didn't. And once he died, it is unlikely that we will ever know which was which. Terrible situation, but it is only worth one Law & Order episode and a quick Dateline.

But what if, instead, the guy was head of a global conspiracy that involves multiple Presidents, multiple intelligence agencies, and just about every powerful person on the planet? Suddenly, that is a whole series.

And that is what Bongino and Patel and all of them did. They created a new story around an actual villain, who was already dead via suicide (an end that wasn't satisfying to the audience), so that they could use it to make money and obtain political power by casting themselves as the opposition to this guy and the broad conspiracy that was shaped by both a series of claims and implications as well as the existing prejudices in the audience's mind. There is a reason that every rock you turn over in Maga-land is either a failed script writer/movie producer (e.g., Bannon) or a reality tv show clown (e.g., Trump or Dr. Oz) or a right-wing newstainment host (both of these guys, Janeine Pirro, Hegseth, etc.).

They managed to flip the reality show script. Rather than convince you that their TV show is reality (when it is heavily contrived/written), they convinced you that reality was a tv show. And a bored, sedentary audience looking for meaning bought it and put these guys into actual power as the heroes of this contrived story.

 

I know there has been a lot of hysteria . . . but has the FBI or the DOJ confirmed the alleged memo is authentic?

This is it as I understand:



It is unsigned and undated and contains no information regarding to whom it is directed.

If the FBI confirms this, it will be very bad for President Trump, his administration and the DOJ.

 

You have to love these two sentences: "One of our highest priorities is combatting child exploitation and bringing justice to victims. Perpetuating unfounded theories about Epstein serves neither of those ends." Just the sheer degree of gall and lack of shame given their history of doing exactly that is truly the icing on the cake.

My one hope from this entire episode is that people might stop trying to treat reality as a tv show. My unfortunate expectation is that it will work the other direction, and only enforce the need for more and more outlandish narratives to still keep watching and waiting for the day when the good guys win at the end of the run...

 

What exactly did they say they had? Seem to recall they had the file and it would be released. The latest announcement is about certain information not being in the file

 

Press Secretary Karoline Levitt just apparently authenticated the unsigned, undated memo. I watched the video and confirmed the transcript provided.

A reporter just asked:

“Karoline, the DOJ and FBI have now concluded there was no Jeffrey Epstein client list. What do you tell MAGA supporters who say they want anyone involved in Jeffery Epstein’s alleged crimes held accountable?”

She replied:

“This administration wants anyone who has ever committed a crime to be held accountable, and I would argue this administration has done more to lock up bad guys than certainly the previous administration.”

“The Trump administration is committed to truth and to transparency. That’s why the Attorney General and the FBI Director pledged, at the president’s direction, to do an exhaustive review of all of the files related to Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes and his death and they put out a memo in conclusion of that review.”

“There was material they did not release because frankly it was incredibly graphic and it contained child pornography, which is not something that is appropriate for public consumption but they committed to an exhaustive investigation. That’s what they did and they provided the results of that. That’s transparency.”

 

Awful look for the Trump admin and awful for all those girls who were exploited and used. No defending this.

 

It gets worse. I found a clip that went farther than the Q&A I posted above. Fox asked, specifically, about the Epstein client list AG Pam Bondi previously told all of us was "sitting on her desk" and the nonsense they are now trying to peddle is very disheartening and weak, IMO.



There are probably better sources if someone has more of the C-Span video or the full Fox News video but I heard enough in those two answers.

 

Do you think they are now holding this information for some other reason? Or do you believe the reason they gave as to why they are keeping the facts out of the public eye?

 

I kinda assumed those who were the most vocal about the Epstein files were largely trolling, especially since I kept reading that the Clintons - for some reason - waited to murder Epstein in Federal jail after Trump was in office. I'm now wondering if at least some of these folks are genuinely upset.

So what do we have:
There never was a list. Bondi made it up and no one in the Trump administration corrected her.
or
There was a list in the administration's hands, but now it's gone.
or .... ?

 

Maybe her desk is very messy and she will find it next week under three indictments that she forgot about. Or she confused a stack of takeout menus for the Epstein List.
