CTW has until Class Registrations to sign another outfielder. We've gone with 17 on the roster before. The roster in 2014 had 17 on the roster and the Gators won a Natty.
Three of whom were big time pitchers. Hannah Rogers, Lauren Haeger and Delaney Gourley. Pitching wins championships.
Rothrock and Brown carried the pitching load that took us to the national semifinals AS FRESHMEN!!! They ARE big time pitchers. And Oxley was pitching that way last year until whatever physical issues those were took her down. Keep those 3 fully healthy, add in Miller, Sparkman and Stevens, and I think pitching will be our strength in 2026. Infield defense should be better and, to me, it's just a matter of how we replace all the offensive production that we lost that will decide what kind of season we will have.
A few weeks ago, people were talking about a pop-up "congratulations, you have won...." virus on gatorcountry.com forums. Seemed like it went away for a while, but I'm getting it again. Anyone else?
In Delaware we are not in “Cox Country” so I don’t get this pop-up window in GatorCountry. Looks like it is a targeted Regional ad. I get a similar Verizon pop up window, but it doesn’t occur in GatorCountry, but randomly on other sites.
Yep. Xfinity pop-up here in Jax. The most irritating part is you can't just close it. You have to back up a page, and hope it doesn't immediately pop-up again.
The virus is smart enough to look at your IP address and use the local provider (Cox, Xfinity, etc.) in the hopes that you will click on it. My Googling indicates that the infection is on the host site for the server. I think GatorCountry eradicated it a few weeks ago, but maybe mods could let the Powers That Be know that it is back.
So with the end of the season and the end of the portal flurry of activity, it is time to give out the award for MOST GAMES ATTENDED IN PERSON. Sandman won in 2023 and 2024. My plan to become a graduate assistant this year and deny him the three-peat was thwarted when CTW didn't hire me. But Sandman usually runs up his totals at the WCWS and with our early exit this year, I think I might have a chance as I made quite a few away games. And I'm figuring Notexgtator has a lock on the "most miles traveled," as he always does.
Amanda breaks up a 0-0 game with a two run bomb tonight. Interesting interview with Erin at her time as a GA at Florida. Highly complimentary about Tim and Thomas. Lots of work defensively. Said "not a coach but there working with the team 5-6 hours per day".
Just tossing this out and I can imagine the reaction. I have no dog in this hunt. I don't know enough to know if Aric is an outstanding coach or pure garbage and there only because he's close to Tim. The later seems to be the prevailing opinion. But I can say this. If I had a dollar for every one of our solid, and even great, UF hitters who voluntarily offered huge praise for Aric, I would have a mountain of money. They were not put on the spot having to say something nice. They volunteered it unasked and had no reason to say it unless they believed it.
