I don't see this happening as it likely takes Eric Trump away from running Trump businesses and severely impacts their family time having 2 young children:

Exclusive: Lara Trump Considering Run for NC Senate, Says She Sees Herself as a Senator

Michael Whatley wants to run, but Lara has the first right of refusal:

Lara reiterated, “I would love to serve in some capacity like that, yes,” before explaining that her life with two young children has made for difficult “timing” to launch a campaign.

“So, if we can work that out and it feels right, and the timing is right, then it’ll be a yes for me.”

Eric Trump shared similar thoughts on the struggles of raising a family while being in the political spotlight in a recent interview with the Financial Times, saying, “The real question is: ‘Do you want to drag other members of your family into it?’”

In an article Monday on a potential Lara Trump Senate run, Politico reported that the president has given her his support, and that RNC Chair Michael Whatley is also interested in the North Carolina seat, “but won’t make a play until he knows Lara’s decision.”

She should stay out of the race.

Even if she jumps in, there are going to be other contenders.

I agree. I really don't care so long as it isn't a democrat or a RINO.

Mike Whatley may be more valuable as the head of the RNC which allows him to be a difference maker in elections all over the nation. North Carolina is his home state so I can understand him having political ambitions.

I'd love to see Lara Trump as the Republican nominee. Roy Cooper would thoroughly humiliate her in the general election.

Mike Whatley won't be one of them until Lara decides not to run.

The clock is ticking. If Lara doesn't run, republicans will have to find another head of the RNC before heading into the 2026 election season.

The RSCC is probably already recruiting multiple candidates.

I find your use of the term RINO very humorous. If we wanting to be sincere and honest here, maybe you and your brother MAGA(s) are the RINO... I mean lets look at it logically, your far, far, and I mean far right views have been around for what definitely 5 years, but maybe 9, but since Trump... And before that, were you republicans, so if so, would that by your own words wouldn't that make you a RINO...
Or maybe the Republicans who have stood by the party for as long as they have been able to vote and support a party, who aren't on the extreme far right, still value the constitution, decency, the law, and the rest of our Republican values we have always stood by are the true Republicans, and the MAGA(s) are in fact the RINOs...

MAGA are very obviously the RINOs. They don't hold any core convictions other than whatever Trump thinks or says on a given day.

The Republican Party has always been the home for conservatives that believe in small government and fiscal responsibility. They are the real Republicans. Find it very funny when a guy that was a Democrat most of his life is now calling those Republicans RINO's.

They are the tea party. They started that concerted effort after Obama was elected. That was the straw that broke the camel's back. They knew they couldn't run as the tea party, so since they mostly aligned with the republicans, that's the party they joined. Calling real republicans RINO is just part of how they overtook it.

Just a reminder that even though Trump carried the state in 2024, the Democratic candidates won every statewide election with the exception of state auditor including elections for Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney General and Secretary of State. The Democratic candidate for the North Carolina Superintendent of Public Instruction also won defeating the Republican candidate an anti-trans, anti-wokeness Moms for Liberty type candidate who didn't even send her own children to public schools.

    I recently saw someone post, in a different venue, that MAGAs are AINO's. I'm not certain what they meant, but they accompanied the post with this picture;

Trump also backed an absolute lunatic for Governor, which hurt down ballot races for Republicans.

Been saying this for years now. In fact, this might go down as the biggest con job in American history. Trump, a life long NY democrat switched parties when he sensed a weakness in the Republican Party and fooled enough voters to believe he was something that he was not. He is not conservative, not religious, and obviously not responsible fiscally(no balanced budget, increased debt by trillions under his administration). True republican conservatives have no party that represents them today. Maybe Musk follows through with his rhetoric and creates a third party that will break the MAGA cult or at least give real republicans a platform for their own political views.

This will be a Dem pickup. The MAGAs are going to nominate some right-wing nut like they did with the governor's race last year.
