The top schools with the biggest bags get the top players. We arent getting them which only confirms they have bigger bags than we do. We are playing money ball and spending our budget in the best way possible to be competitive. We got DJ and Wilson but maybe we just dont have it in the budget to also afford a top defensive tackle. We got Banks on the cheap and i would imagine we had to renegotiate his bag to keep him on the roster.

 

We don't have the financial commitment to compete. Football or baseball....

UF is not poor. We just think we are better than spending money on 18 year olds. In most cases I feel the same way but eventually we will be obsolete if we don’t figure it out. Stricklin and Napier have to decide they want it as bad as the LSU’s, Bama’s and Texas’s of the world and right now they simply don’t. The money is there Stricklin is holding it hostage for his dumbass stadium renovation. A renovation and no players to keep buts in the seat seems like a double bad idea to me.

This post is completely inaccurate.
The simple fact is many of UF's big donors don't believe in NIL. Do you somehow actually believe Napier doesn't want more NIL money? That's an absurd comment. Stricklin has to tightrope a variety of needs, but he certainly isn't trying to direct money away from NIL...that's an absurd comment as well.
UF has decent NIL, more than most. But will never have the crazy money of a small handful. And even schools with lesser $$ can go all in on select players and effectively price UF out if the numbers go to far.

But, I would say we are doing well at all other positions at this point.

 

Whistling past the graveyard still I see. Nobody said Napier doesn’t want more NIL he has no leverage. He’s a dead man walking and so is his boss. Stricklin wants the renovation done so he can brag about it 10 years from now because his hiring of football coaches is a colossal failure. I guarantee you he’s directing money that would otherwise go to NIL for the renovation. You know how I know? I still have the email.

 

We don’t have a player ranked in the top 100. Our defensive recruiting is horrific. Just go look at our competition.
