Meh. So Smerconish fell for that years-old trap of setting the bar so totally low that he praises Trump for basically not crapping in his own pants in public. (Although to be honest, according to many people's reporting on Trump, that probably did actually happen.)

Trump did have one of his least-bad weeks, but it can't be overlooked that the guy's a blight on the world. And when we look at what's being praised, it's actually pretty laughable;

- "Trump showed empathy." Yeah, Trump seemed to care that a Ukranian woman's husband was fighting in the war. Ya just figure these things out, Don? 100s of thousands have been killed already, buddy.

- The military executed a raid well. Yay, Bone Spurs.

- He badgered Europe to agree to massively increase their defense spending (at least until he leaves office, then they show him their crossed fingers.) Why is this even a good thing? How about convincing them to spend on developing an alternate clean energy source?

- He babbled less about his trade lunacy.

 

The real adults are in charge again. Daddy's home.

 

100%. Trump is doing everything he promised. You MAGA, complicit Republicans, and fence sitting independents should be happy.

Should be a wake up call for centrists, fiscal conservatives, libertarians, and liberals. But it won’t.

 

If they were going to fire him for making positive statements about Trump they would have done so long ago. In fact if CNN didn't want it's commentators to say anything positive about Trump they never would have hired this guy:

Smerconish is actually objective. Jennings has been a total shill for Trump. His commentary has been worthy of Fox News. This is the title of a recent book by Jennings: "A Revolution of Common Sense: How Donald Trump Stormed Washington and Fought for Western Civilization".

They only fire people that cause Trump to throw a 2-year-old temper tantrum

If you're referring to the decision by NATO countries to increase defense spending it's not because Trump persuaded them or at least not directly. It's because they realize that under Trump the US can no longer be considered a reliable ally and unlike every other US president going all the way back to FDR and Harry Truman under Trump the US is no longer the leader of the free world. Even when they are messaging his fragile ego leaders of the other NATO countries realize that Trump is narcissistic paper tiger with a penchant for orange makeup. They also realize that Russia now represents more of a threat than it has at anytime since the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991 and that they have to rely on themselves for defense.

 

It is absolutely because Trump demanded it! NATO realizes that they cannot exist without the US. Do you really think that Russia is more of a threat? They can't even win a war in Ukraine. The US bombed Iran and the whole world didn't say sh*t. They even called him "daddy", and did exactly what he told them to do. The US is stronger than ever because of him. Russia and China had very little to say after the bombings. They realize that our military is for real. You are having a TDS flare up. Stop hating our country.

 

in order to believe your argument you have to first believe NATO counties chose to selfishly spend their money elsewhere and underfund their own defense spending for decades on the premise the Americans would swoop in from 4000 miles away with US taxpayer funded equipment and save them. That mindset alone the US should have told them to kick rocks years ago

 

While I like some of what Yrump has done and despise some of what he has done.. the idea of crowing about winning is just more divisive point scoring .Everyone. Left and right needs to stop.

 

Jennings is insufferable. I stopped watching CNN and mainstream media long ago, but I unfortunately come across clips of his online still. Total Trump sycophant.

I never said winning was bad for the country.. taking a victory lap and rubbing it in the oppositions face is bad for a country. It’s divisive and not helping us move forward. If at this point you still want to argue please find Jo and tell him your thoughts on J6. He will surely oblige you.
