The Justinian Jessup era is official over in Golden State. The Warriors traded the rights to Jessup, their No. 51 pick from the 2020 draft, to the Memphis Grizzlies to move up from No. 59 to No. 56 and select March Madness hero Will Richard...

Warriors draft national championship star at No. 56

Very happy for Will! Hard work pays off and he gets a shot at the NBA. One of the first and "key" Cogs in Todd's construction of a national champion.
Will just got better and better. Step back three was lethal and he played solid defense and went to the boards hard.

Without Will we would not be celebrating a third Gator National Championship, his 18 points, and carrying UF offensively in the first half, late block in the 2nd half, and then the incredible turnover he created against Houston, made him the Most Valuable Gator on that day.

Best of luck to an amazing Gator!

Will Richard was one of those "glue guys" for us- doing all the little things that make a team successful.
It also felt like he was just a great teammate- leading by example and having that team-first mentality.

I feel like on every championship team there's a guy that the outside world undervalues but those close to the program loves.
IMO Will Richard was that guy for us this year.

Will Richard was amazing for UF he is going to be sorely missed and I think at times we took him for granted as fans.

Congrats Will Richard, he gets to learn the Warriors system firsthand….imagine walking into that culture. Have to believe his shooting will improve working with Curry and under Kerr all day every day

Wow, talk about stepping into a real pressure cooker situation. I mean, Justinian was a former MVP of both the NBA and finals and spokesman for so many products. I wonder whether the sponsors care? Can Will even get close to their expectations?

Um, when did he change his name to Justinian? After Subway had cases of food poisoning? That may work, as long as he wears a hat out in public. I mean, his face is pretty recognizable.

Well anyways, congrats Will. Looking forward to your progress and your first commercial. How about WaWa?

Personally, I liked seeing Will celebrate at home with his family by his side as opposed to the ESPN-circus. A special young man.

Will was the first player to commit to Golden. Very happy everything worked out so well and he's getting his shot at the NBA. Hopefully the first in a long line of Golden pros!

Will Richard kept Florida in many games last year including in the 1st half against ?UConn and again against Houston in the national championship game. I am so glad that Richard will get a shot in the NBA.

Will was a good college player the day he arrived at UF. Far, far from NBA caliber, though. No problem, he improved at every aspect of the game so that he does everything well now.
He got stronger, quicker, better at individual defense, better at team defense, better at rebounding, better at ball-handling, better at passing, better at leading, better at attacking the rim, better at finishing. One might say he is the same 3-point shooter as he was when he arrived, but I believe he's better at that as well, because he was primarily a catch-and-shoot guy only then. Now, he's added step-back, side-step, fakes, and high-pressure shots. Basically, he was directed to take on more responsibility from 3.
Kudos to the staff for player development!
