Almost back to where it was when Biden was President…. And all Trump had to do was TACO on everything he promised….

There is a rather simple explanation. It's that the markets are assuming that Trump's extreme tariff proposals will never be implemented and so far they have been correct. Given that tariffs are an article of faith with the Donald this also may be a good time to take profits and/or short the market.

I would also add that another reason is that despite his rhetoric belittling Jay Powell Trump hasn't really tried to remove him as Chairman of the Fed, and he probably couldn't do so even if he actually tried.

 

Ya know ..... I'm starting to feel sorry for the LGBTQIA+ community .... what with

* the stock market performance,
* Tariffs,
* LA Riots (including the federalization of the Ca National Guard and Marines to LA),
* Israel-Iran war,
* Panthers winning the Stanley Cup then damaging it,
* deaths of Sly Stone and Brian Wilson,
* US dropping MOP on Iran, and
* Zohran Mamdani winning the NYC mayor democrat primary

no one has really paid any attention to what's happening for pride month. Maybe it's just not really necessary any longer.

 

Just as under Biden, borrow enough money will make the economy look great - for now. Trump’s BBB will add even more borrowing - raising our debt at a faster pace.

Yeah, I think the TACO thing started as a wall street explanation for why they didn't crash the market for all of his dumb tariffs announcements after he backed off the ones that seem almost impossible to stop (the dumb, liberation day tariffs in which they declared that we needed tariffs because no two countries should have trade deficits).
