Not super happy about this guy getting the nod for EUCOM. A lot of people were expecting Gen Donahue.

Is there a concern with him? From a Ukraine standpoint he seems like he will be a good voice in Trump’s ear.

Donahue was the CG of Task Force Dragon and was instrumental in helping the AFU push back the Russians for the first year of the was. Also head of Delta Force, J-3 of JSOC, and the CG of the 82nd Airborne Division when we pulled out of Afghanistan.

The Secret History of the War in Ukraine

He was the prefect person to be the next head of EUCOM. Word is that the Trump Admin does not want anyone associated with the pull out of Afghanistan in top positions.

Had an small issue with Grynch last summer that caused some heartburn.

"Ukraine's drone forces recently revamped a points system that rewards pilots for battlefield kills, and it's putting the greatest emphasis on targeting Russian drone operators.

Ukrainian units now earn 15 points for wounding a drone pilot and 25 for eliminating them. Tank kills, which previously earned 40 points, now only bring in eight points for Ukrainian units.

Among Russian forces, the shift is being noticed by military bloggers who write about the frontline.

"Bad news from the front," wrote Alexander Kharchenko, a state media war journalist who runs the Telegram channel Witnesses Bayraktar, warning of a "hunt for our drone operators."

Ukraine's drone pilots are overhauling which Russian targets they think matter most, and tanks have fallen far from the top

Very telling. Tanks creeping in at a snail's pace as Russia gains and loses ground in (as Springsteen once wrote--or sang, i should say) a death waltz, a lot less impact full than those pesky AF drone buggers that wreak havoc on Russia'a ability to wreak havoc.

A gop Putin stooge: Mike Lee (R). Thankfully it it is not likely to pass, but this fool wants to pull the US out of NATO. Traitor should move to Russia.

That’s a shitty position to take. The hasty withdrawal was because of Biden, and previously Trump, pushing hard to get out.

Ever stopped and done a hard look on what the US could do if we could count on European countries to be able to carry the load for the defense of Europe rather than relying on the US to be the backbone in doing it? Especially when you consider we have been trying to pivot to Asia for the past 10 years? Do you understand the amount of resources it could free up?

I’m not saying I would do it but let’s not act like there is not a solid argument for the US to ask NATO to carry a greater load in Europe so it can free US resources up to go to INDOPACOM.

That's a separate argument that was addressed this week when NATO members agreed to increase their defense spending. It would be myopic and would not be in our national interests to abandon NATO. Putin has been hoping for the destruction of NATO for decades and there are reasons for that.

No Putin would want to see the US pull out of NATO because he knows without the US, NATO is just a bunch of Christmas ornaments without a Christmas Tree. NATO countries rely on the US to carry the majority of the load and that sucks up resources. The announcement for them to commit to 5% defense spending of GDP is a big step to start addressing that but they were not going to do it if they thought they could get away with the status quo.

LMAO BRO! WTF would Putin do to NATO??? He can't get past half the width of the Florida peninsula in 3 1/2 years in Ukraine, but we're supposed to buy that *very scary Russia* represents a threat of invasion to Europe???

What the Euros know, and why they've taken advantage of us for so many decades, is nothing more nor less than MADD.

Attack on any mbr of NATO = attack on US per article 5, and the gloves come off, and nukes take flight...

Vlady's slow as turtle, sitting duck target practice tanks are no threat to anyone.

$900 drones taking out $10 million tanks like shooting fish in a barrel, has changed the terrain so drastically, Russia's fighting 21st century wars with mid 20th tech--it's like bows n arrows vs guns n cannon.

It was because Biden didn’t properly plan for the hasty withdrawal.

McKenzie claimed that he ordered a force cap that was below what he and Milley recommended. McKenzie should have resign in protest when Biden gave that order.
