Worth noting: Rivers Kurland was redshirted somewhere in K-12. (As was Cade, whose "early" admit to UF was really on-time with extra steps.) PG has Rivers at 19 years, 5 months old so he will be a draft-eligible sophomore in 2027. In fact, he's 5-6 months older than Aidan King and 8-9 months older than Jackson Barberi (who was only in college last year because he started kindergarten in NY. He'd have missed the cutoff date in GA [or FL] by about a week.)

Some parents have been holding back athletes a year to give them an advantage over their peers. Often occurs just prior to high school.

Good flip as we needed a LHP. He's not in the usual Sully pitcher's mode of the 6"2"- 6'5" guy but his stats look solid and his K/BB ratio very good. Here's hoping he can be equally as good on the mound as his brother was his freshman year at 2nd base. So I guess that means Cade is coming back - LOL.

Quite the exodus of pitching from the hounds via the portal. I suppose it’s from lack of playing time.

I was referring to the toothless hounds in Knoxville.
Michael Sharman, Andrew DuMont, Dane Bjorn, Tanner Wiggins, Brayden May, Luke Payne, and Stratton Scott. Sharman was 3-1 in 22 2/3 innings with a 3.18 ERA. The rest had less than four innings.

I hear Sharman does a great job fielding bunts....
That's why they say, "Don't squeeze the Sharman".

That is bad news. I thought we had an excellent shot at landing Sosa- he's from Viera FL. Our Portal haul thus far is pretty far down the list in the rankings.

Speaking of... That makes 20 pitcher they lost. That said, they have 57 players on their roster compared to our 38.

Ocala, Aidan's grandfather told me that Aidan took a different path than most top players in that he didn't attend many national camps and therefore was overlooked or undervalued. I played golf with Aiden and his grandfather a couple weeks ago before he left for the Freshman All American camp. What a nice young man. By the way, Aidan hit several drives over 300 yards and one that we estimated was around 350!

I agree with you Shane. As soon as I saw that we had a commitment from Bowen I thought darn, were not going to get Tinney. Bowen seemed like too high quality a player/catcher that
you sign him and tell him, by the way, were still pursuing our starting catcher! For those suggesting Bowen play first base, and he may split time there, what do you do with Lawson?
Lawson is a good first baseman but really struggled at third, when pressed into service, with several of his throws bouncing about two thirds of ways to first. He's not a third baseman!
